Out-Dated: Avoid This Motel

Spent one night and after breakfast returned to the room and discovered the plastic card "Key" did not work. The manager attempted to unlock with his "Master Keys". Still the door remained locked. Meantime, our little poddle was trapped inside, very upset and desparate. Finally, after about 25 minutes the manager had to go outside and remove the window casing in order to enter the room from the grouind floor (thank goodness we were on 1st floor). It seems the "battery" that operated the door had no power! In short, this place is mediocre at best regarding size, cleanliness, and quality. This Comfort Inn is very old and I will never stay or recommend this place. AVOID.

NICE

We stayed here in August of 2007. Everything was great and the front desk really was nice when we checked in at 10:30pm. Rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. Beds were pillow topped and very soft. Breakfast was good but the usual stuff. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Nice Rest Stop on the Prairie

This hotel is a good place to spend the night if you are stopping out on the Plains. Goodland is about 200 miles from Denver and 400 miles from Kansas City. Rooms were clean and tidy. Linen service was sporadic during our extended stay. Personnel were friendly and the continental breakfast was the usual fare, adequate but nothing special. LOCAL TIPS: Walmart and fast food nearby. There is a good buffet at the Howard Johnson's across the street. Local stores downtown nothing spectacular. The large outdoor Sunflower portrait was neat to see. They also have a nice museum with the first helcopter displayed. These are located on the southeast side of town. If you want a great breakfast travel to the north side of town to the small airport.(a mile or so north of Goodland) The airport cafe puts out great meals. Try their gigantic cinnamon rolls! This hotel seems to be the newest and best available in this small "frontier" town.
