Sonesta St George Hotel Luxor, Luxor

Staff are friendly,and helpfull, rooms clean, all bedding etc, I go often to Luxor love the people, walk alone, no fear, little hassle !! eating out some good places I like the Lantern in St Joeseph st nearly opp hotel, also Aisha opp emilo hotel different things, fixed price no hassle (Taki) pop in for chat he would love it. It a love -hate with Egypt

This hotel is very central to everything service is 5* Pool is cold and not heated enough, and tho they say they will heat it more they don't.... Have to say an excellent hotel , but the staff do lie, so be careful And major hotel work is been carried out, so noisy between 9.00am - 9.00pm and a lot of workers walking in and out by the pool

I liked just about everything at this hotel.Our room was very clean and well furnished with clean towels twice a day.The food was good and plentiful with enough choice to suit most tastes.The pontoon over the Nile has been upgraded and its now beautiful with plenty of space for lounging. Every member of staff apart from reception staff were most helpful and would not allow you to do anything if they could do it for you.And of course there is the friendliness of everyone but thats not just Sonesta staff,everyone Imet in Egypt was happy and friendly. The hassle you get when you venture outdoors upsets some people but Iput it down to part of the wonderful experience that is Luxor.I came to Sonesta in January after Nile cruise and loved it so much when Ireturned I booked another two weeks in Sonesta in February and loved it just as much. Going back in October.

This hotel is amazing, the staff are so friendly and they make you feel right at home. It's so clean and the food is delicious! :P There was not any bad points about this hotel, everything is perfect, lovely pool area, lovely people, lovely location. I also met my husband at this hotel, he worked as a waiter here! i would recommend this hotel to everyone! however this hotel wouldn't be that great for little kids, as it doesn't have facilities and activities for children, it's best for couples and children above 10 years old.

we arived in egypt in august 06 for a week my first in ideas was that it was a beautiful hotel.the hotel staff were so kind but the out side let me down as soon as you entered the street you were getting haggled non -stop. constantly gettin asked did u want a horse and carage. my experience in sonnesta was great could not fault it but hated egypt itself i would love to go back to the sonnesta just not in egypt if you are lookin for a lively holiday it is not the place to go or if you do not want to do sight seen, insane this i would recomend this hotel to some one hew really wants to go to egypt but would not recommend egypt itself!!

The hotel was a short ride from the airport and was quite pleasant to stay in. The room was small but cozy. Unfortunately the view of the Nile left much to be desired. The food & service at the Serapis Restaurant was bad and the airconditioning very inadequate considering the high temperature of the area. The Aladdin Restaurant was so-so. The saving grace in terms of cuisine was the Beban Italian Restaurant where the food and the service was excellent. The pool was very nice but utterly crowded. Beware of the Front Entrance guy as he tried to pull a fast one on us by "negotiating on our behalf" with the cab driver but was in reality charging us double the normal rate for taxi fare. Commission or rebate? (Taxis in Egypt are not metered - you have to negotiate your fare every time!) I knew because I took the same route the day before and got a decent rate by negotiating myself... Altogether the Sonesta Experience was ok. But I would try the Sheraton or the Mercure the next time I drop by Luxor... Ciao!

We arrived late May from a 7 day Nile cruise and were greeted very warmly in the magnificent reception atrium. With the minimum of formalities we were directed to a very comfortable and well equipped room with balcony and efficient air conditioning. Lifts to all floors. On the ground floor were cash machines and a branch of the Cairo Bank The many and varied in house restaurants were excelent with attentive yet not obstrusive staff.Prices in each Rest. varied, none would deter a revist.Breakfast was really like an Alladin's cave for variety, taking full account of the guests homeland. The hotel with its swimmimg pool, sun decks and floating open-air lounge cum cinema was by the edge of the Nile and only a carriage ride away from Luxor temple, museum, and only a short walk from the many truly Egyptian shops and bazzars, haggle if you like. We had a wonderful holiday here and would highly reccommend this hotel

My friend and I have just returned from Egypt this was out first time staying in the sonesta, we have been to just about every other hotel in Luxor staying but the sonesta was fantastic. The reception area with the magnificant chandaler is out of this world. The only problem we had was getting a sun bed at the pool. the Pool staff are very nice and looked after us when we were there. The girl at breakfast with the tea and coffee needs to be retrained, dont know how many times she spilt the tea over either myself or my freind. When I go back to Luxor I'd deffinatly stay at this hotel again. Thats if my friend hasnt already moved over there to stay by then.
