Sherlock Motel, Shelby

Shelby was one of our favorite stops in a recent trip through Montana. The owner was wonderfully accommodating (and a lot of fun) and was right on with her recommendation for a good steak. Our room was neat and clean and we enjoyed the homey, vintage touches that were part of our stay. Don't let the proximity of the railroad get in the way of your stay...the rooms were super quiet. An extra plus for us was the invitation to watch the town's July 4th fireworks from the motel's balcony...best view in town! By all means, get off the freeways and explore gems like the Sherlock Motel and Shelby, Montana!

Mark and Sonja are the greatest people and make you feel so welcome. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. It was indeed my home for 7 months. I was a travel nurse that lived there and so enjoyed talking about the world events with the both of them. I only hope to get back there soon to visit them. They will always hold a special place in my heart. The room was clean and neat. If you needed something they went out of their way to get what you need. Miss you both and hope to see you soon! I'm only sorry I couldn't have stayed longer to visit more with Mark... I suspect he is the owner. What a great guy who runs a great motel. He's friendly and he certainly knows Montana. When you go, take him out for dinner!
