Hotel Higgins Landing, George Town

What's an eco-resort? According to one definition, it's a resort "constructed to be harmonious with its unique natural surroundings." In the case of Higgins Landing, you'll find solar electricity, rainwater and all the original island terrain on resort grounds. The resort consists of five cottages, all furnished in antiques and within steps of the beach. Each unit is a good distance from the others, providing all guests with privacy. The resort is the only one on Stocking Island: one of the Exumas, with a population of seven people. The resort restaurant serves delicious island and international cuisine throughout the day. Guests with dietary restrictions are encouraged to discuss them with hotel staff prior to arrival. Per-person rates include accommodations, meals, transfers and use of most hotel equipment.
