Best Kept Secret for a Norwalk Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/11
Attended a recent funeral in the Norwalk area and the locals recommended this hotel. Our group utilized 4 rooms for two nights. The service and comfort levels were excellent. The rooms/carpets were clean, the sinks drained, the water pressure was great, the bathroom lighting was good, the beds=comfortable, TV/Internet service was as promised, and breakfast was better than expected. Furthermore - the hotel is situated perpendicular to SR 250 - so the traffic noise was non-existant. The picture on the web reflects the front of the hotel which houses a large pool and whirlpool area. It presents a most inviting area of relaxation - wish we had brought a suit - very attractive setting with knotty pine cathedral ceilings and heated pool to 82 deg. The building was well maintained. BEST OF ALL was the management's attention/professionalism toward our requests/ needs. Being one who generally stays at the Mariott hotel line where available - I must say - this Best Western fulfilled everything that we needed. If you wish a larger breakfast dining experience than 'Continental' has to offer - immediately across the street is a Bob Evans Restaurant. To top things off - the price was right! Don't know what they'll charge for the top of the tourist season for Cedar Point - but in January - take your swim trunks and enjoy a relaxing winter interlude!!

Way over priced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/10
The pool was filthy with mold around the edges and water was green. The hot tub was filthy and was so hot 110 degrees so you couldn't get in it or you'd get burned. Told the desk person and she said yea that's what everyone is saying. Our room when we first walked in had dirty used towels on the bathroom floor and on the carpet under the hangers. The room smelled of smoke and was non smoking. We paid $259 a night for this mess. I would not recommend it.... Way over priced, Oh yea, No shampoo or anything in the room. Just 1 tiny bar of soap...When I asked about it I was told that they do not have to provide us with any of that stuff...For $259 dollars a night I would expect the room to have that stuff.....Big disappointment!!!!

Great value - Well kept up
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/9/10
I would recommend this hotel for business travelers and vacationing families. We've been there for both. Rates are competitive for area. Every staff member we encountered seems to really care about the guests and keeping up hotel. What a change from some places we've been! We loved relaxing in the indoor pool and whirlpool. Wireless internet worked great and was free! The breakfast goes way beyond "continental" and offers hot items, hard-cooked eggs, fruit, cerels, etc. Everyone can probably find something to start their day. Short drive to amusement park if you go in summer. We'll be back!

WE WON'T STAY HERE AGAIN
By Bobbyblue, 5/28/07
We stayed here on the recommendation of one of our crew members, because he went to college with the son of the manager. Not a good reason, I admit. Our room had a leak in the air conditioner drain: if you stood in front of the window, your socks got wet. When heat was turned on, the thermostat didn't function and it got to 83 degrees one night in the room. Personell at the hotel were very non-committal. They acted like we were bothering them when checking in, asking for a wake-up call, or inquiring about the Continental Breakfast, which by the way, was the most godawful cardboard tasting stuff we have ever encountered. It was a bad experience all around, and we couldn't get the management to do anything but take our money. For what we paid, we could have opted for another chain that would have at least been happy that we spent our money with them.

Disappointed upon arrival
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/05
This hotel was not what I expected for the cost. First, we were quoted a cheapter rate via phone, but when we arrived we were charged nearly $50 more. I discussed this with the manager and was able to receive a refund of $28. The pool is very small and does not accomodate many guests, and it closes very early. The hot tub was dirty the first night we arrived, so we weren't able to use it. The hotel is conveniently located for Cedar Point and our room was clean.
