Quality poor for a Marriott
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/08
FIRST PROBLEM WAS 95 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND NO AC, MAINT. WAS A NO SHOW SO THEY MOVED US TO ANOTHER ROOM. THIS ROOM SMELL BAD AND WE NOTICED ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER THE PLACE. WAS PAYING A HIGH RATE THOUGHT THEY MIGHT GIVE US A BREAK BUT THAT WASN'T HAPPENING. WE HAD A GROUP OF 12 STAYING 8 NIGHTS SO THEY WERE MAKING ALOT OF MONEY ON US. FRONT DESK MANAGER WAS VERY VERY RUDE. HOT TUB DIDN'T WORK AND EXCERSISE ROOM WAS ALSO CLOSED. YOU ARE BETTER OFF FINDING ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY.

I should've never stayed here my 2nd time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/08
In the Summer of 2007, I was on a roadtrip and It was my first time in New Orleans, and I always like to stay at Marriott Properties since I'm a rewards member. First thing I want to say is. This hotel is not in a good part of town, and nothing is lit up at all outside at night. They need security desperately! The parking lot is all chopped up, and is very narrow to park and back up into and out of. After I checked in, I was asking the night desk clerk some info about the area, and he had no idea about anything. You could barely even understand him with all his bad english. The internet was being consumed by some young kid who wouldn't get off it. I told the desk clerk, and he didn't do a thing about it. There were ants in the bathroom as well. It doesn't seem like such a great clientele stays there. I had my suitcase and other bags, and no one even offered to open the door for me including the desk clerk. The next morning, I needed to use the internet. But guess what? Still being consumed by some young kids playing games and wouldn't even get off. I told the desk clerk I needed some directions, and when I told her how to do mapquest, she had no idea what she was doing. Sometimes, I give places a 2nd chance, and was on a roadtrip with my sister and she wanted to see New Orleans, and so I decided to stay here again. This was December 2007, and the only difference is that there was no ants in the bathroom being that it's 40 instead of 100. Same situation. 2 desk clerks not so bright, and kids consuming the internet playing games. The desk clerks didn't do a thing about it. After 2 times going to New Orleans, I definately wont be going back anytime soon, and definately not to that property.

The morning shift clerk was so rude to the people in front of me that I refused to ask for what I needed. I did not want to be that embarressed. The room was wierd, no tub with shower water running in the floor. This was way above t5he advertized price. Bad experience.

Great for the price
By matte, 03/02/07
My flight got cancelled and I need a place close to the airport. Greaat price, clean room, free airport shuttle (running on the hour)and great airport location. Nice place to stay in a pinch. A couple of pilots were on the shuttle with me from the airport and those guys can choose from a number of hotels.

Overpriced rooms
Rooms are overpriced for what you get. A very small room with two double beds, I was charged $122.00 per night. Should have been more like $69 per night. First room they gave us had the toilet running, so I asked for another room. The second room smelled like smoke mixed with Pinesol, so I asked for another room, again. Third room was okay - but not worth the price. I've stayed in 5 star hotels for less money. Work-out room is very small, only two pieces of equipment. Pool is small, and hotel is surrounded by poverty stricken neighborhood.

Great Trip! Recommend to all!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/05
The value was great. We had a big room with a king sized bed and a hot tub, with a separate shower tub in the bathroom. Housekeeping did an excellent job cleaning our room. The pool was o.k. and the airplanes flying over the pool wasn't the greatest but being located close to the airport and car rental was great. New Orleans and other sight seeing was within a few minutes. Service was average at the desk, they were training new people. Complimentry breakfast was what you'd see most places and service there was friendly. I was a little worried after reading some bad reviews, but I would recommend Fairfield Inn to anyone and I would stay again in the future.
