La Quinta Inn & Suites St. Louis Westport, Maryland Heights

Loved staying here. Rooms were clean, food was good, service outstanding. One of the best La Quintas around.

I think the employees were very nice and helpful. The beds were extra comfortable (very soft), the rooms were clean. I know people can have pets here, but I saw or smelled no sign of animals. My husband on the other hand said he hated the bed, too soft for him, he would have preferred firmer beds, so he had trouble sleeping. I slept fine until he wake me up the first night at 5am complaining about how bad he slept. Then the second night we were both awaken by the fire alarm. Someone on the second floor apparently decided to wash his clothes in his sink and dry them on the heater, which put off sparks and the water sprinkler. We did not know what was going on, and the staff was not making sure everyone left their rooms or let them know what was going on. I did call the front desk and was told everything was fine, that a sprinkler accidently went off and the fire department was on their was to shut it off. A couple of our neighbors (down and across the hall) rooms were flooded and they were given new rooms to stay in. As for me, I didn't get back to sleep until sometime after 3 am. When we went to check out the next morning, I asked if they were offering a discount because of the night before and she said she would give us one. She we got about a 1/3 savings on of hotel stay. I know it was not the hotels fault in the fire alarm going off, so I do not hold them responsible for being woken up in the middle of the night. I would stay there again, if I have the chance. My husband on the other hand, would just have to request a firm mattress.

Bright, clean, building with nice landscaping meet you as you check in to a large lobby/entry. Property is in a business park and surrounded by other hotels and nice office buildings. Plenty of bright lights for our night check in. Met by very friendly clerk who made check in easy and pleasant. Rooms (we had 2) were on the large side with very comfortable beds. Very clean, and up to date. wifi and cont. breakfast. We traveled with 2 dogs and saw a few others there also.

Likes - Location and ease of entry. Dislikes - (1)Totally abused us on the first night reservation by demanding that we were to be in a smoking room. The room was horrible. The reservation was certainly for a "non smoking" room preferably on the ground floor. That left us with no room and no where to go. Found a room at another location many miles away well after midnight. Customer should always be right is what I was taught. (2) Went back for night two after speaking with a friendly customer service agent. Room was great. Breakfast next morning wasn't. They did not replenish the food bar and they had no USA Today papers. I would not recommend this motel. I will file a complaint with the corporate office.

This hotel was very nice. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The free continental breakfast was really nice, not just your run of the mill coffee and donuts. There were waffles, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, and a variety of juices and coffee just to name a few. I will definitely stay here when I visit St. Louis again.

The facilities are good: wireless lan, large rooms, fully furnished, carpeted, with gym and pool (though small), all for just USD$65 per night. I was pampered. The hotel shuttle service to the airport was prompt and the driver knew how to avoid peak hour traffic. Quiet neighbourhood, but security is satisfactory with card keys access. Cleanliness wise, points lost when a fly kept me company in my room whole night, but I was too tired to bother! Hotel shuttle bus, we didn't know that we needed to call the hotel to inform them that we've arrived at the airport in order to call for the shuttle to pick us up. We ended up waiting 1 hr for the shuttle bus. Dinner wise, there's only Denny's restaurant next to it. Thankfully, they serve quite a good variety and excellent service. No shopping centres around though.

We had came to St. Louis for a business meeting staying two nights. The recommended hotel was substandard on many levels. Upon driving to dinner we saw the La Quinta on Lackland Road. I had stayed at one before in Louisville, Kentucky and was satisfied with the quality. So we stopped, went in and asked about a room for two nights. We were treated with top of the line customer service! Our room was wonderful! The staff was superior! I would recommend this La Quinta if you need to stay in this part of St. Louis. I would definitely stay again.
