No Air Conditioning

We booked this room for our last night in Germany because it is close to the airport. During our trip, Germany was experiencing a "heat wave." Temperatures that should normally have been in the mid-70's (F) were in the mid-90's (F). With the humidity, the heat index was probably in the mid 100's (F). Needless to say, after having spent over a week sleeping poorly in typical, non-air conditioned German hotels, our family was hot, grumpy and worn out. We were looking forward to getting a good final night's sleep in a cool, "Americanized" hotel before flying home.
When we drove up to the hotel, it didn't look like a very good part of town. The paint or stucco was peeling off of the outside of the hotel building. Then we entered the lobby. It was an "oven!" The counter employee had a fan blowing on him. We expressed concern to him about the heat and lack of air conditioning. He was friendly and gave us 2 rooms on the lowest (coolest) floor on the "cool" side of the building.
The rooms seemed very nice and clean. However, within 10 minutes we were dripping with sweat - even though we opened the windows wide. My husband found another hotel nearby (Holiday Inn Express - Frankfurt Airport) that was air conditioned.
We asked for a refund and left. I think this hotel is probably OK in cooler months if you need to be close to the airport. In the summer, or on warm days, I would not stay here.
