Surprisingly Nice Stay
By Ed, 9/6/10
Read several reviews and was somewhat surprised to find that the place has been recently updated. New carpets, fresh paint, really clean bathrooms and rooms. Understand that we were only there for 2 days and I read their information on housekeeping, noting that they only do it once a week if you are a long term guest, but found the desk attendants friendly and helpful. As far as the room went it was really quite nice and had a new refrigerator, 2 burner stove, microwave oven, and cookware, dishes, cups, etc. plus a coffee maker with coffee. I am willing to give up the daily cleaning in favor of having someplace to keep snacks, food, and drinks cold or frozen, and someplace to eat them. For the bad part I couldn't find any local channels on the tv and they don't give you dish washing supplies, and that's not really a complaint. Talked to some people in the town and one had stayed there for 7 months, and had no complaints. I personally wouldn't have a problem staying there again. NUFF SAID

The "bare minimum" motel
By LouiseB, 5/26/08
The location was, indeed, central but not pretty. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. All the spaces were clean, including the bathroom. Be warned: there is no dish washing soap, or scrubber to deal with their pans that everything sticks to. No paper towels either, for mopping up. We had to make do with the small cloth and dish towel provided. There was a nightstand and light on only one side of the queen bed. We were left ONE coffee bag for a 3 night stay, and no tea bags; luckily, we had brought some. We spent $20 shopping for bare necessities, not counting the cooler full of food, and bag of toiletries that we brought. The microwave oven door continually stuck and required considerable effort to open. Our money might have better been spent on a more upscale hotel with continental breakfast. If you are prepared to bring just about everything you need for your stay, except a television & basic cooking utensils, you will be OK. I also wonder why there is only ever one comfy chair in motel/hotel rooms that otherwise seem to be designed for two people.

EZ acess stay
By Mark R, 5/25/07
Good location, EZ access to 390 and 90. Convienent and close to eating and shopping. Hotel was nice, lots of amenitites. Perhaps a bigger sign to find location and some neaby grass to walk the dogs.

Nightmare on Commons Way.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/06
Bathroom was disgusting, toilet unflushed with poop in it, room had NOT been cleaned, hallways were dirty, not vaccumed. Bed made but dirty. We had to get clean sheets, and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned our own room. I will NEVER stay there again!

Nice Place Needs Cleaning
By winged, 10/5/05
First the good stuff: This studio/hotel has the perfect location. Near the inner and outer loops of Rochester, we could be downtown or in any of the Rochester suburbs within 10 minutes. The kitchen nook has a full-size fridge and sink, the stove has 2 full-size burners and a microwave. My husband was able to connect to the internet easily and cheaply to communicate with his company, and I took a bath without having to wait for hot water. Also, the room was spacious enough to keep us from feeling crowded. Now the bad stuff: Dirt. The worst was the bathroom. Nobody else's hair should have been all over the floor, and the toilet pedestal didn't appear to ever have been cleaned. (The seat and bowl were clean, thankfully.) The fridge and microwave hadn't been wiped since the last guests, and the dressers, though not filthy, contained leftover specks from previous occupants as well. Dirt clods in the stairwells were the same when we left, as when we'd arrived a week earlier. If this hotel could be maintained, the convenience and economy would win waiting lists for those wishing to visit Rochester.
