Hostal Nicolás Nader, Santo Domingo

This hotel is an important example of colonial architecture and Dominican historical heritage. Built in 1502 for the explorer Pedro Alvarado, in 1516 it became a Jesuit convent. In the nineteenth century it was the residence of the poets Salome Ureña and Pedro henríquez Ureña, as well as of the dictator Ulises Hereux. This building was renovated in 1983, becoming an exclusive ten-room hotel with a pleasant and romantic environment. It is located near a major commercial district.
