Holiday Inn Champaign Urbana, Urbana

We arrived early for an association dinner meeting in one of the banquet rooms, expecting to enjoy a drink at the lobby bar as we did last year. Even though the sign posted said it was to be open at 4 p.m., it was not, and as the female bartender began to set up, she was quite dismissive of any our questions. When she finally opened and we came back out from our banquet room, she was rude, unattentive, dismissive, and basically poured our drinks while talking to the two men sitting at the bar--no thank you, just a setting down of our change. Needless to say, one drink and none of us returned. She dampened the evening for us and I guarantee I will not bother IF our association meeting is at this location again next year. Very disappointing to be treated in such a manner.

This was the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel w/ travel baseball. This past time was terrible!!! Little ants in the room, stafff didn't care, showers not clean. Left a pillow there and called about 3 hours after checking out. They assured me they would send it to me but room hadn't been cleaned. After calling daily for a week and being told different stories, room not cleaned yet (after three days!) finally I was told there was no pillow. They never checked and whoever cleaned the room didn't care. Just found our our credit card was charged for our 2 night stay and we payed cash. We had four different age teams with all their families so probably at least 100 rooms for 2 nights and we will NEVER bood there again. We stayed at the Drury the year between and loved it. They were very nice and accomidating. Will never stay at this Holiday Inn again and now we have to hunt down receipts and get them to straighten this mess out!!!!!!!

Our hotel room overlooked the lobby. I have never seen this at a hotel and it is strange. The pool was not in its own room it was at the other end of the room that the lobby is in. We called for room service 20 minutes before it was done for the night and no one would answer the phone. We ate breakfast at the hotel and the food tasted bad. The bathtub was very small. no mini fridge. They do not have express checkout. Bed was hard. The central air was noisy. The flow on the bathroom would be very little unless you kept your hand on the handle. The shampoo that the hotel provides was bad. There is one snack food vending machine and it is difficult to find. No free breakfast. Please chose another hotel. We will never stay at another Holiday Inn again ever.

This place, nothing good to say. Other Holiday Inn's....good things to say. This is why I am feelign the urge to say anthing at all. It was a terrible experience at the Holiday Inn, Champaign Urbana. We booked the room in advance so that we could enjoy certain ammenities on our road trip to KY. (previous year everything "good" was all booked up at the last minute). Hot tub out of order Sauna out of order pool being cleaned HBO - not working due to "hotel being under rennovations" Cardboard boxes laying all over commons area looked pretty trashy (b/c that is what it was...trash) There was a whale in our room...that is the toilet. And one last thought......... if your are on vacation, do you know the area code? I don't. So why whould you not include that on your list of phone numbers for "recommended' restaurants so you can dial from a cell? Please contact Josh and Tricia when you are ready for a real appology.

the room was okay. the caulk in the shower had mold. the room service was bad. the lobby, restaurant, pool area was cold. the floor and elevators were dirty. i wouldn't stay here again.

We planned our wedding reception at this particular holiday inn. We did a food taste test fo chicken and beef and it was excellent! The room was nice and clean the day of our wedding and the sales and catering department did an excellent job to amke sure the room was how we wanted even to changing the light bulbs that were blown. The service during our wedding was good as well...anytime someone was out of a drink tehy brought more and served food right away and checked on people the whole time....all our guests enjoyed the food and bar service. My only complaint ...and its not much of one...is that the dance floor we ahd for our room started to come apart while we were dancing but not enough to injure anyone...other than that a good time....and they gave us enough time to decorate our own room if we wanted to do it ourselves which came in handy instead of doing it the day of my wedding...Thanks Holiday Inn for making my guests experience wonderful...and the rooms were decent too for our guests that stayed!

I planned a formal event for 250 people in one of the ballrooms at this hotel and the poor service was shocking. All of our food was late, I had to leave my event several times just to hassle the event managers to give us the food we had paid for. Our dishes were never cleared, our dance floor fell apart causing us to trip and fall while we were dancing, and the food really wasn't even that good to begin with. On top of all this, the event cost way more than other similar events like this had in the past with poorer service. It was a nightmare. If you have an important event to plan and want it to go smoothly I suggest that you find a different venue. I wish I had.

I stayed here for a week for the tax program at the UI week of July 9 2007. First off, the hotel was not that clean, it took them 3 days until they vacuumed my room and it needed vacuuming when I first got there. Bathroom WAS clean tho. However, strong smell of stale cigs throughout although they did change to a nonsmoking hotel about a year ago. Worst of all was the shuttle service and overall organization/management of the hotel. They advertised free shuttle to UI and airport but it was not available because driver was on vacation. After numerous complaints they did arrange for shuttle but the way they handled it was very disorganized and they didn't seem to care that the main reason I stayed at the hotel was because of the free shuttle. I also didn't like the location of the pool/hot tub. It is located in the lobby and after swimming (it is freezing cold in the lobby) you have to walk by the open atrium restaurant and bar to get to the elevator to get back to your room. Kind of embarrassing/cold/inconvenient. Grrrrr..... Positives were internet access and location.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn (not express) and was not impressed. I was there for a week for tax education at the U of Ill. The beds were very uncomfortable, I could feel the springs through the matress. I slept on the spare pillows in the room because by day three I was having terrible back pain. I had to call the front desk twice to get room service to get fresh towels, sheets, and get the trash taken out. They claim to have a free shuttle, but half the time there was no one to drive it so I had to rely on taxi serive to get to and from the campus. On the website it talks about an off-campus workout facility, but when I asked the staff where this was located, no one had any idea what I was talking about. There were a couple times where they wouldn't allow me to order off the menu for breakfast because "it was too busy"...there was maybe four tables with people at them...and all they were doing was buffet. I would suggest staying somewhere else.

I found that the toliets had hair on them. The carpet in the room needed to have the vacumn run. Also the Spa wasn't very hot only lukewarm.
