Don't book a room with a fireplace
By Mrs. M, 5/21/12
We booked two rooms for two nights; our room was supposed to have a spa and a fireplace. Our son's room was supposed to be close to our room. The desk clerk that checked us in (Taylor), was surly and very unfriendly, no smile, no communication whatsoever outside of business matters. Her hair covered her name tag, even after I asked her for her name, which she provided. The closest she could get our son's room to ours was not close - it was right off the lobby and ours was more than halfway down the hall in the other direction. The other desk staff we encountered after check in were very friendly and helpful. Upon checking out our room, we discovered that it did have a spa (a jetted tub) but no fireplace as advertised. It did have a large curtain hanging on a wall near the TV that covered a piece of drywall that evidently was put in where the fireplace might have been. It looked incredibly tacky - screwed into place, not finished, and with a curtain covering it. When I went to the desk to talk to Taylor about the lack of fireplace as advertised, she looked at me like I was crazy and said that none of their rooms have fireplaces. She asked if I wanted to move to another room, but there really wasn't anything comparable to what we were expecting. Otherwise, the room was comfortable; the ceiling fan blades were dusty, but housekeeping cleaned them and we were able to use the fan afterward. The breakfast was meager with basic offerings. The hot tub was working when we checked in (on Sunday afternoon), however, not working later that evening. After asking Taylor for it to be turned on at least three times (switch is behind the desk), it never came on and we gave up. The maintenance person I saw on Monday indicated that this seems to be a regular occurance on Sundays, but it was drained, cleaned, and working fine Monday and for the rest of our stay. Overall, I was not impressed with the hotel. The location was OK, and there is a cool mini-golf course behind the hotel. We do not know if we would stay there again - there is a Holiday Inn Express in town, which we would consider if we travel to the area again.

Rude, given key to someone else's room
By Debby, 7/13/11
Front desk was rude! reserved 2 double beds but were given 1 King for 4 people. Went down to the front desk to ask for double room and they gave us the key to somebody's room ( they were still in the room and sleeping) We went back down to the front desk to tell them what happened they said Oh well we only have the King then. Asked housekeeping for more towels, they said sure be right back and never came back with towels. I have been calling to speak with the General Manager for 5 days now and still have not been able to get a hold of him/her. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Great place to stay
By KarenP, 6/28/11
We have traveled overseas and across the United States. I felt this place was great...but possibly $10 overpriced. The place is clean and gives the feeling of being new!! I'm not sure what the person meant by the hot tub being out of date. We enjoyed it greatly and was very spacious for 5 people. The breakfast was great. The staff (including the housekeepers!!!!!) were extremely friendly and helpful.

Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/24/11
My aunt and uncle stayed at the Baymont in Washington. They were disrupted two nights in a row with no sleep due to the excess noise level of other guests. They didn't complain. The third night the noisiness was right outside their bedroom, so they complained. The front desk person called the cops on them and kicked them out for being drunk! The cop thought the Baymont was way out of hand, because he even breathalized them and they blew .0001. but yet got kicked out of their hotel at midnight (they were in town for their dad's funeral!!!)

Never Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/11
The whirlpool room I reserved online was nothing I expected. It was extremely old and out dated. The whirlpool was nothing but a bath tub in the bathroom when we expected it to hold two people and be in view of the tv. This was suppose to be a romantic anniversary weekend and it was horrible. We never even opened our wine due to the room not offering the atmoshere we expected. I complained to the man at front desk immediately at check in and he just rolled his eyes and acted like "o well". Very rude and didn't offer any compensation. I was way overcharged for such a room. The furniture had spill stains on it so had to sit on bath towels to feel clean. When leaving we were both sick due to some nasty deodarant smell maybe coming from some contraption on the main door. We apparently inhaled way too much strong smell and was sick for 2 days after leaving. I'll never stay in another Baymont again!

Don't plan to sleep if it rains.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/07
My three week stay was pleasnt over all. But, unfortunately every time it rained the fire alarm system went off, "AM & PM"! Now I understand this is at no fault of the employee's, but there was no communication; just a crowded hallway of confused guest. Calls to the front desk just frustrated; an already defensive person, that tried to make excuses without knowledge or compassion. I was told everything from " The alarms are programmed to go off to inform guest of a storm" NOT! To finally the truth "There is a short in the system when it rains, we've tried to fix it with no luck." Yes I said luck. I feel the situation could have been handled better with training & hiring help with people skills, not to mention repairing the fire alarm system for public safety.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/22/05
Well worth the money. The staff was very friendly and quick to answer any questions. Fitness Center was pretty good, though having to get a key for it from front desk was unusual, it had nice equipment. Breakfast was nice. The room was the best as far as comfortable. No major frills but was comfortable. The bed was soft and provided a great nights sleep. The location of sink at door was unusual and maybe not the best if more than one is staying in a room (with mirror and bathroom in view). I would definitely stay there again if going to Washington.
