Decent value, good location
Central Buenos Aires has its ups and downs, and one of the better locales to find yourself is near the Ave. Florida, where dozens upon dozens of restaurants and shops are to be had. Sarmiento Suites Aparthotel is located mere steps from this well-known avenue, which is why I chose it for my most recent visist. Since the currency devaluation in 2002, it's a better deal than when I was there.
The room seemed to be a little lacking in refinement; the beds weren't terribly comfortable, the floors looked as if they could use a little extra attention from a vaccuum, and the general living space was, well, needing an upgrade. But again, it has a kitchen and sleeps 3 very comfortably; sacrifices must be accepted for the price. The room was comfortable, but nothing of note. Again, location was the real selling point here.
Upon reflection, Sarmiento Suites Aparthotel is adequate if one wanted to stay close to downtown and not spend a lot of money. But there are better hotels near similar ameneties in better neighborhoods in Buenos Aires.
