Dhow Palace Hotel, Zanzibar

We booked a room at the Dhow Palace because we could make a reservation by internet. They required no payment to hold our reservation and the communication was prompt and coureous. Our only specific criteria were a reasonably priced room, good location, air conditioning and quiet. The Dhow met all that, plus the rooftop restaurant was great, the decor was fun and the rooms were spacious. We appreciated that we were welcome to stay and use the pool for the afternoon after we checked out. It was a nice cool place to wait until we took a taxi to the airport.

A very decent hotel,but somewhat run down. Good internet access available. Nice swimming pool. No elevators and high ceilings make each level a considerable stair climb. Muslim owned, therefore no alcohol served.
