Don't Eat The Eggs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/06
Let me preface my comments by saying that I appreciate cultural differences. With that said, I can state, unequivocally, that the breakfast at this hotel is the most overpriced and least appetizing I have ever encountered. The scrambled eggs were served cold and the rolls were hard enough to drive nails into two-by-fours. To add insult to injury, this breakfast cost 18.50 Euros per day! Besides the breakfast though, there were other issues with this hotel. The rooms are cramped and the furniture looks at least a decade out of vogue. On the plus-side, the hotel has an excellent location near a subway stop, the bathrooms are very nice, and the view (at least from the rooms facing south) is exquisite. Brussels is a wonderful city which is woefully overlooked by many American tourists. The Eurovillage Hotel is not the worst place in which I've ever spent a night, but the aforementioned problems should be taken into consideration by any potential travellers. And please, for the love of God, skip that horrible and exorbitantly priced breakfast!
