A hidden gem in Independence
By Shawn S, 06/23/09
Stayed two nights at the Hyatt for a couple Indians games. Pros: Beautifully decorated and well-equipped modern, spacious rooms that are considerably deeper than most hotels. Clean, comfortable beds. Good soundproofing between rooms. Massive HD plasmas with clearly labeled hook-ups for cameras, video, etc. (first time I have seen this at a hotel, great feature). Really liked how you could tilt the TV to the bed in one room or the relaxing L-shaped couch in the other. Calm, well maintained property. Lobby feels more like an elegant delicatessen. Located in a quiet area with no road traffic. Nestled just off the 480 and 77, it's an easy 12-15 minute drive into downtown Cleveland. Cons: Very loud A/C (among the loudest I have encountered). As another person pointed out, the shower is uncomfortable to stand in. This is attributed to its odd v-shaped floor. Of 50 hotels I have stayed at in the 3* to 4* range since 2007, this is in the top 3, yet the rate was among the lowest. I will be back.

It was okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/07
We stayed for 3 nights over the weekend here, for a Baton Competition. The hotel itself was gorgeous! The rooms looked great, however they didn't work. When we need to get up the next morning, the Bathroom sink was outside the bathroom, in the main sleep area. Which was inconvient due to the fact you don't want to wake anyone. So I had to dry my hair in the bathroom with the door closed and no mirror. Also the bathtub was wierd. First of all, it was slippery, so be carefull. Also it was werid when you stood to take a shower, the tub wasn't very wide. Your legs were positioned wierd. Then we oviously stayed in a room with two full sized beds. They were not even full. I sware to god they were twin beds. My kids didn't fit comfortably. My kids are tiny. One is 6 the other is 5. They are not overwieght by any means. Then this is the topper of it all, I went down for a cup of tea on Saturday morning, around 06:45 a.m., I ask the person at the front desk if there was any tea? This worker who has salt and pepper hair, with little round glasses, happen to tell me No. Also procede with how you don't expect things at your local grocery store for free, and we already have big screen TV's in your room. He was very rude. Watch out for him. They were not all that great of staff. Another person with our group wanted her microwave popcorn bag popped. They actually said no.

A really nice hotel
By Rolonda, 09/15/05
I really like AmeriSuites Hotel. They're tucked away behind a bunch of other hotel in Independence.Good prices!! They have nice, clean rooms. Besides your bedroom there's a little living room, and kicken with a sink and dishes. They have a lot of amenities like: a fitness room, pool, and a free breakfast in the morning. The staff is friendly.

I would stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/05
My family and I stayed at Amerisuites for two nights. In those two nights we had very few problems. The biggest problem we had was getting locked out of our room because -both- room keys were deactivated for some reason, but the people at the front desk were quick to resolve that problem without any questions what so ever. The maid service wasn't that great. They basically made the bed and put new towels out, the room was not vaccumed (and I have a four year old, so there were plenty of crumbs). They did not wipe anything in the room down and who ever cleaned our room thought it would be ok to write their name on one of my son's write on/erase boards. Otherwise, it was very nice having a microwave and fridge. If you stay in this area, I highly recommend food fetchers. They are quick and relatively cheap if you want to stay in for the night. All in all, I would stay here again.
