Ramada Limited South Padre Island, South Padre Island

My wife and I have have stayed at Ramada Limited four years now in February. We have been very pleased with the friendly and accomodating staff, The staff has become like extended family and its a pleasure each Feb . to see them again. The rooms are always clean and the room service excellent. Its always nice to meet again many of the same "Winter Texans" staying here year after year. And the staff offer an excellent breakfast. We have always enjoyed our visit at this motel!! Bob and his wife do an excellent job managing the motel. We know what Spring Breakers can do during party time; yet each Feb. when we arrive the rooms are clean and well cared for! Dick and Barb from NE

We girls (daughter, grandaughters & me) just needed a quick getaway to the island and didn't want to drive back late at nite (we're only 33 miles away). The pool and jacuzzi perfect. Our accomodations were great, and our stay was great. We will go back!

I booked before I read all the reviews. I was regretting it because the majority of them were bad. It was booked so my boyfriend and I decided to stay. I'm glad we did. Of course is not the Hilton but the room was clean, I did not see roaches or bugs or mold & the smell was not as bad. It smells a lil humid but tolerable.

This hotel has switched prices on me twice,in Jan of 2009 I made a reservation when I arrived they had no reservation an said the price was higher,we stayed as we had friends staying there also. Now they have done it again,I had a reservation for the 18th of sept for a king size room,with a hot tub, I called the hotel spoke with the girl she quoted me a priceof 49.99 per night so I got a confermation # an booked it for 3 nights, guess what? when I arrived again they had no reservation for me but said that I could have theat room for 89.00 per night I tried to explain to them that the girl booked me at 49.99 but they said sorry I was wrong, well I got mad an told them that this was the second time they did this to me, an it wasnt right to do this to people that are coming from 400 miles away,I told them to forget it an left, then I found the confermation # an called them an I was told that # was wrong it was 3 numbers short, I dont know what these people are doing or why but I will never stay there again or recommend them to anyone, so if you going to south padre island at this motel make sure you get the name of the girl you talk to an make sure you call back an double check everything,it just seems strange that iv made reservations here twice an both times there was a switch in price an my information was not in there computer, then the owner informed me that I should call the hotel directly if I wanted it done right, ya right thats where I did call directly to them, so traverlers beware of there actions at this place

We were at first disappointed in the location. We had understood the location would be just accros the street from the beach. It is approx 2 blocks away. This was not Ramada's fault though. I found the staff very accommodating, especially Joe and Bob. Joe even tried to help us find a hotel closer to the beach. It was clean and quiet, even during the last 2 nights while spring break was on. If we go back to S Padre Island we will consider staying. I did not like the price increase of $40.00 per night just for spring break, when food/restaurants, gas, etc did not increase

They deactivated are key cards every day, 2 and 3 times a day we would have to go back and reactivate our cards as they wouldn't work. they double charged my card for a $50. dollar surcharge, not once but twice and didn't even tell me about it. I had to find it out at the atm machine that Ramada charged me $100. extra on my 3rd day there. I was there for a week. I would never stay at this location again. I never seen a ramada so bad as this. And I'll make sure no one in my family or any of my friends stay at this location ever again. It was a horrible 2 wk stay, but it was close enough to where we wanted to be so didn't much matter.

First of all, to get in contact with the hotel, poor... second, they answer and tell me to call back in 10 min and then dont answer, terrible, dont even want to try this place, good luck!

I have stayed at ramada's before in other cities i have never seen one in this bad of shape. The staff was nice but we were put in a smoking room it stunk bad. they were nice enough to move us to a non smoking the second night it wasn't to bad. we went 4th of july weekend they charge way to much. this place was maybe worth 50 dollars the shape it is in. the super 8 across the street looked better. Needs to be updated bad. the good thing is the hotel rooms are not on the main street it can get really loud and the rooms are in the back so you didn't hear the trafic

we did not have to pay for our stay we had rewards available. staff was nice and attentive. we had no promlems. the pool was okay the spa was warm. the rooms were okay. the floor was dirty the building is old. i did not like it for small children being that my one year old likes to pick things off the floor. for no small children it would be alright. the shower heads were great water pressure good. long ways to walk to beach. you would have to cross a busy street and then some. i would recommend it to people with no children if your looking for a cheap place to stay.

is a very nice hotel but is hard to find it but for sure i had a nice time there . the service was pretty good and the rooms are big enough for a small family
