Sandos Playacar Beach Resort And Spa All-Inclusive, Playa del Carmen

It was a really fun place to visit. The water was beautiful! The color of sea foam green, you hear of places like ClearWater Florida, where the water is brown (I've been there), but here it is beautiful. The staff was so friendly and helped with everything, they even put the Serbia game on for us. They gave free World Cup shirts of popular teams, and had food prepared for the ultimate fans who didn't want to miss a second. The entertainment was spectacular and had something special every night, and the sports team made beach sports fun. Great place, is hoping to go back soon :)

We spent 8 day and 7 nights at Sandos, had a wonderful time, the beaches were great, the water was warm. The staff at the Sandos were very friendly and went out of their was to help. We stayed in the very back Jr. Suite and it was very cozy, it was a 5 to 10 min walk to the beach but, is was good to get some exercise before going to the buffet. It's a 5 star resort in my book.

The food was very good and the staff was fantastic. They were so nice I wanted to adopt them and bring them back to the U.S. O.K. I am just kidding (sorta) but honestly they were very, very pleasant. We originally asked for a beach side room but when we checked in we were sent to building 9000 which was on the far end. At first I was disappointed but very quickly realized how nice it was to be able to retreat away from the noise and partying of the beach zone. The resort is quite large at 1000 rooms and 2 years prior I stayed at the Viva Wyndham Maya which really was a bit cozier and also had a great staff and food but not as nice a beach. I would go back again if the price was really good.

We absolutely loved this place. We stayed in the new section (now called Riviera) and loved the junior suite room. The beach was a little bit of a walk, but it was nice. There are always the golf cart shuttles if you don't want to walk. The restaurants are outstanding. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We made some new friends! It cost us around $1K per person for the week including flights. Great value - highly recommended!

The service and staff were very nice. What you would expect in a resort competing for your dollars. Food was very good. The things we disliked were the layout of the property. We were a long way from the beach. When we got to the beach it was closed. We were told many times that it would reopen on this day or that day. We spent a week and the beach never opened. There was no compensation for this lack of beach. It was very disappointing to plan a beach vacation and find the beach closed. The layout is a big problem. Our view from the room and pool was the same as sitting at a pool at a condo complex in Florida. No ocean view at all. A long ride and or walk to the actual (closed) beach. I would not spend my dollars at this resort again. Check out the layout prior to booking. Don't rely on the resort's photos.

The rooms were very very nice and the service was above average. But I wanted a beach vacation, my room was at least a half mile from the water, to make matters worse they had a small shuttle that took you about half way, problem is it did not run in a consistant manner, sometimes it would not run at all, and this was in the middle of the morning or at dinner times. Management was never around to handle a problem. Food was great and the place has lots of bars. We had a good week, but there are a lot more places out there with the same service that will give you a view of the ocean for the same price or better. Yes they are still pushing the the time share scam and they get rude when you say no.

Beware of timeshare scam. It cost us time and money. Do not believe what they tell you. It's all a lie. I gave my recommend to all my family and friend not to travel to Mexico for vacation. Southeast Asia is much better.

sandos hotel is so much fun the beach is beautiful the rooms sre good and the food is wunderfull my kids ;love playing on the rocks

My husband and myself are in our 40's. We first went to Sandos Playacar Aug 2008. We loved the place so much we went back Feb 2009 and already have our confirmation for our next trip there. The people that work at Sandos go out of their way to please you. They usually had a big smile and a greeting for us. I'm a firm believer you make your life what it is. A person can always find a problem if they look hard enough no matter where they are at. We have friends that went to a more expensive resort had a good time but left without really getting to know the place or people. The 2nd time we went back to Sandos some of the people who worked there even remembered us. We have met people there that became fast friends and have kept in contact with. We have never had our ocean front room but no matter where our room was the resort was just beautiful. We are looking forward to our next visit.

this hotel has the best beach ever best food ever great service clean lots to drink .Visit Xcaret,Tulum,Coba,Ferry over to Cozamel,snorkel of the reefs tickets from Martin Perez next to ferry ticket sales in Playa Del Carmen . Shop here also in Market cheaper than hotel shops eg 200 Marlborough 24 dollars.taxi 5 dollars from hotel,beware fake handbags being priced 140 dollars !!! Barter down to 33% of asking price for Jewellery.Not cheap place to buy better at airport.Lovely friendly people.My only dislike at hotel ( which is probably my taste ) is no peaceful place on beach between 10-4 as loud mexican music volley ball football too close to loungers . Thanks to Luis PR/Quality manager this was turned down for the last four days of our stay.Recomend the pancakes for breakfast . My daughter loved the steak.There is tons of everthing at a very high standard.The house wine is excellent .Clean rooms wonderful staff .All you could wish for on a special holiday.The entertainment staff work very hard and also arrange late night club trips into Playa Del Carmen.The weather reports were so wrong every day we had sun no rain.First two weeks in September.Treat yourself to the best.
