Ashmore Inn And Suites, Lubbock

We love Ashmore Inns. Every summer for the past 6 years or so we've held our family reunions there. Often as many as 40 of us will converge on this hotel at once. There have been a few "What Was That???" moments, but not many, and overall the staff has been consistently nice and helpful, the rooms have been clean and spacious, and the meeting rooms have been easily bookable. Lots of us in our family are Old Folks now but we troop up and down the stairs, slowly or not, and just deal with it. That's the West Texas way, and we're good West Texas stock. Or we request a handicap room. (That's the Old West Texas way.) If I could make any suggestions they would be that 1) a piano be available as part of the meeting room reservation, and 2) that the hotel accept small pets, but those are the only changes I can see that would enhance my familys' visits. Thank you, Ashmore Inn, for all that you do year after year to make our family gathering memories pleasant.

Walked in without a reservation and asked what the price was... she asked what I'd like to pay! (on a Sunday nite). King size bed with 6 pillows! Room was comfortable, quite, clean. In a nice area. Breakfast was not spectacular, but it was good. Staff was friendly. Be aware there's no elevator in the back building, so if stairs are a problem make sure to mention that.

My daughter and I had planned an overnight getaway at this hotel for alittle rest and shopping before starting back to school. Our plan was to get in bed early, enjoy the hotel breakfast and hit the mall mid morning. Fire alarm started chirping around 11:30pm (didn't know what it was as I was in a dead sleep). Finally (chirping every couple of minutes), called front desk 1:45am, got dressed so front desk guy could enter room, turned on lights so he could fix battery in alarm. Back to bed 2:30 am. Someone buys cokes from coke machine 3am right outside our door. Fire alarm chirps two more times after 4am. Alram clock made weird buzzing sound every few minutes all night. Slept through alarm clock until 9:44am. Rushed down to get breakfast that closes at 10am. Not much left. Spoke with front desk guy upon check out. His response was "Sorry 'bout that." The room was nice and clean, and I know that things happen, but I was very disappointed . It was probably the worst night I've spent in a hotel.

In the main part of the hotel, which is only two levels, there is not an elevator to use. As a person of age, this was hard on me coming and going up and down the two flights of stairs. If I had known in advance that there was not an elevator, I would have choose another hotel. When I checked in to the hotel, the desk clerk did not mention anything about having to climb stairs to get to our room. Hotel is located close to several restaurants and a Wal-mart. Room was on the small size but seemed updated and clean.

Great location in relation to shopping. A good selection of nice places to eat right in the same parking lot. We travel to Lubbock several times a year and we choose the Ashmore. Nice size rooms, great rates, friendly people. Always clean and the beds are good too.

We stayed here for a wedding and did not have a single complaint. The rooms and hotel were spotless. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the workers were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable and the suite was large and extremely nice. This was the nicest place I have stayed in several years. I didn't have time to try the pool.

As the manager in question on the night when the elevator incident occurred, I apologized profusely for the problems. His entire party was comped for the night. Since that confusion, measures have been put into place so that everyone knows how to deal with that situation should it ever arise again. Again, we were somewhat unprepared for it that night, it will never happen again, I have made sure of it.

The Ashmore was a very nice motel.

Clean, friendly and a great price. Highly recomend for families and business travelers. Close to mall and right off loop.

WE WERE IN TOWN FOR A BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT WELL AT THE MOTEL WE GOT STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR. 9 PEOPLE THERE WERE 7 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDERN ONE OF THE ADULTS WERE 9 MONTHS PREGNANT AND DUE ANY TIME. THERE WAS NO VENTILIATION AND THE MANAGER WAS VERY RUDE. WE CALLED FOR HELP AND AFTER 15 MINS WE WERE STILL STUCK AND WE CALLED AGAIN AND ASKED HIM TO CALL 911 HE SAID WHAT ARE THEY GONNA DO? I HAD TO CALL 911 ON MY OWN. I HATED THIS HOTEL WILL NEVER STAY IN ANOTHER AND DON'T SUGGEST ANYONE ELSE EITHER. I WILL LET EVERYONE WHO NEEDS A HOTEL KNOW NOT GO THERE!!! WE FINALLY GOT OUT AFTER AN HOUR!PLEASE DON'T STAY THERE IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! NEW MANAGMENT PLEASE!!!
