Cozy, Clean and Comfortable
After travelling for about 5 hours the Country Inn looked welcoming from the exterior with its two porches with tables and chairs. Parking was free and we parked right in front of the entrance making unloading our luggage convenient. The desk clerk was very friendly and knowledgeable, pointing out the cozy lobby with fireplace and the breakfast room (free) off to the right. Our room was just as pictured with a comfortable king size bed and wonderful pillows. There were two comfortable chairs (usually I have to sit on the bed to watch tv if there is only one chair). The flat screen tv had HBO and the program guide was with it on a large dresser type piece of furniture that housed a small refrigerator and microwave. It was in a dark cherry finish matching the end tables, lovely headboard and desk. My only problem was the floodlight that shown in our window illuminating our room through the sheer curtains. After a couple hours I finally found the room darkening draperies behind the drapery panels and sheers. There was a lot of road noise as two highways were nearby and a stoplight causing trucks to start up noisily. There is an elevator conveniently located, not noisy even when we were nearby, but we usually used the lovely stairs near our room from the second floor. The breakfast was quite complete with waffles topped with strawberries (if desired) made to order, juices, coffee, yogurt, tiny muffins, fresh fruit, and scrambled eggs, sausage links, and potatoes (did not look crispy, though) in a steamer also served for you. Very friendly service. We would definitely stay in this very clean motel again but would prefer the back side for more quiet rooms. The pool was small but we did not use it and saw no one else in it, nor in the whirlpool which were right off the lobby. We ate dinner at a steak house nearby which was excellent, getting the menu (reasonable) from samples in the lobby. Try it. You will like it.
