"We don't have your Reservation."
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/08
To make a long story short, I reserved 3 months in advance, paid in advance, arrived at the hotel and they didn't have our reservations. I had actually made two different sets of reservations--one set they honored the other they didn't. When I arrived in PV I should have had 3 rooms for five nights.
They offered to move us to another hotel several miles off of the beach, which--coincidently they also owned--when I balked they magically came up with rooms for two nights only. So we took them with the hope that something would open up. That didn't happen.
Over the next two days, everytime I walked by the front desk I was overhearing another party being told "Sorry we don't have your reservation." I went on a boat tour, and ran into people on the boat who were given the same line--they had booked through Orbitz however, and eventually their reservation was honored.
After the spending two nights there we had to leave. The woman working the front desk insisted that I sign vouchers indicating that I had stayed two nights. Her fear was that I would cancel the credit card charges--which I did. I had paid for 3 rooms for 5 nights, instead we had our vacation disrupted, and we felt like we'd been had.
The word on the street is that people with prepaid reservations are shuffled off to their other less expensive hotel, ostensivly "on us" while the rooms that had legitamatly been purchased at Blue Chairs are resold at the higher rate. I don't know if that's true or not, but something is going on there and this gay resort is neither in my opinion!
