Super 8 Phoenix Mesa Gilbert Rd, Mesa

We were there twice last April with grandkids and the whole family was there in May for a funeral and we enjoyed the hot tub and pool and the friendliness and cleanliness.

We stayed at this motel for a wedding, it was one of the accommodations recommended by the parents of the bride. Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner by the evening clerk. Checked in, went to room. Normal room for the price, until you went into the bathroom. Floor had hair from previous guest, as well as dust and what looked to be a piece of black fuzz from a sweater or something. There was one bar of soap for the bathroom, had to share it between the shower and the sink for three people. Bedding was shoddy, mattresses were all stained up and very uncomfortable. Curtains were well worn, sunlight peeked through the holes. Reported the state of the bathroom and was told that it would be re-cleaned while we were at the wedding. It was not. It was exactly as it was. Next morning at checkout I complained, and was told by the manager on duty I was a liar because the maid had said it was re-cleaned. I was with others at the desk and was astounded to be treated in such a manner. I was offered a $10.00 discount for the attack upon my integrity. We will never visit a Super 8 Motel again, it was our first and last experience with the chain.

My daughter was Graduating so I booked 7 rooms (total of 25 people)here for family and friends, when we first arrived the lady who checked the first guests in, was very nice and helpful. I booked these rooms 3 months in advanced and I asked for two handicaped rooms and 5 rooms on the ground floor, due to mild handicaps that did not need the handi room. When the rest of the family/friends arrived a day later, they did not give me any handicaped rooms and only 2 rooms on the ground floor. So I went to the front dest told the lady at the front desk (not the same one from the day before) that I had reserved 5 rooms for the ground floor & 2 handicaped. (I even had printed out papers confirming this from an email super 8 sent me)Her answer was oh we don't reserve rooms for the handicap, and that I did not reserve special rooms and I did not say "handicap" when I called and Bla, Bla, Bla, I showed her my paper and she continued to argue, so I told her if she was not going to comply to the disablity act I would take it higher than her. I only got my 4 out of 7 rooms on the ground floor. But I should not had to fight 20 min to get them. Overall the rooms were clean, the carpet needed cleaned, my 2 year old her socks were black in min. Overall I would stay again, but I think super 8 needs to train disability awarness to all employees
