One of the best places Camden has to offer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/07
We've stayed in the Camden area before, in dated motels with uncomfortable beds, etc. and decided to upgrade to the Riverhouse this trip. It did not disappoint! The staff is extremely helpful both with local information and personal assistance. The "landscaping" is beautiful, and there are many pleasant public areas to sit and relax after a day of sightseeing. The location can't be beat. In season, parking is difficult in town so having Camden's shops and eateries within walking distance is one of the hotel's big plusses. There are several back streets leading to Rte 1 North and South enabling one to avoid the conjestion of the main shopping area and pedestrian traffic. Rooms are decent-sized, wireless internet access easily available (as well as public computer stations), and room refrigerators were a great surprise. There is a wheel-chair accessible ramp leading to the 2nd floor registration area which is a big help when wheeling in luggage. The only thing I'd add to my wish-list is a larger bathroom.

Excellent Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
Have visited this hotel several times, and always had a fine time. I usually go in off-season (April, May) when rates are lower. Great location in the center of town, just off the main street (no traffic noise!), walk to everything, on site parking. Ample breakfast included - fruit, juice, cereal, yogurt, breads, make-your-own waffles. The hotel also operates an ice cream stand during the summer. Rooms are clean and comfortable with ample lighting. Service is always cheerful and responsive.

A Great Place to Stay
By LisaW, 12/24/06
We stayed at Camden Riverhouse for the first time on Memorial Day weekend 2006. We were looking for places to go and had run into problems with most places being booked solid. We called the Riverhouse and they took our reservation and were very helpful. They had plenty of rooms. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and efficiently. The gentleman named Ralph checked us in and he was so nice and informative and welcoming. In addition to our room being very clean and reasonably priced, the hotel itself is in a great location. After driving 2 1/2 hours to get there we were able to walk to a nearby restaurant where we had a great meal. That was per Ralph's suggestion. The rest of the weekend was relaxing and fun. The Riverhouse is in a great location within walking distance of "downtown" Camden and beautiful ocean views. We would recommend the Camden Riverhouse as a great place to stay. It has all the things people look for while on vacation, great service, wonderful location, well kept and clean accomadations and wonderful staff. We decided after our first stay at the Riverhouse that staying there and visiting Camden, Maine will become our yearly Memorial Day weekend tradition.

Last, 'Resort,' Saved our trip!
By Donna Lynn, 02/19/06
Every year we go to Camden Maine! Hotels, Motels, & Cottages? Well, I am a cottage gal. This particular season, no cottages were to be found. It was off season. We stopped at The Camden Riverhouse Inn, a place of extraordinary luxury! I wished to stay forever! I could have lived in that wonderful place. Camden itself; There are inns, hotels, motels, cottages, right in the village, others located along Route 1 just a few minutes from town, still others nestled in countryside, seaside settings. Cottages, which evoke a nostalgic feeling, provide the privacy, quiet of a separate little, 'house,' are often tucked among the evergreens, perched by the water. Camden Riverhouse Inn also gave me this feeling! I totally enjoyed the hospitality! There are many places to stay in the area. We are always able to find one that's just right for us! I think the Inn will see us again! If you visit, you can count on a sincere welcome at any of these accommodations, as none is too large to ever be impersonal. The comfortable rooms, suites, have been thoughtfully looked after by the owners who, in most cases, are right on the premises. If they aren't there to greet you upon your arrival, you're likely to meet them during your stay, you can count on them to provide good tips on local activities, attractions. The staff at the Inn pointed us to town, which was only a, 'hop, skip & a jump away!' The shops in town, awesome...my daughter purchased a closet full of Stevie Nicks style clothing & I came home with a fridge full of magnets, bumber stickers & maple syrup! I am sooo looking forward to our return! New England is my favorite place to vacation, Camden 'Riverhouse Inn,' has made Maine my all time favorite! 'Maine, The Way Life Should Be!' 'Bella,' Donna Lynn in CT
