Country Hearth Inn Athens, Athens

So me and my husband were in from the road. We stayed there several times. It wasnt a great place but it was decent. They have a guy who comes knocking on your door by 930 am to see if your checking out. Well we stayed over this last weekend and it looked ok when we got there. We had a jacuzzi room. They had put enough toiletries in the room. We had pulled back the sheets and stuff to check the cleanness. Later we noticed condemns everywhere. We realized they had been in the blankets. I went to the office told them about that and we need toilet paper. They gave me 10 dollars off but didnt offer to change rooms. We were exhausted and needed sleep so we stayed. I went to take a bath and the bath tub was horrible then went to plug in my computer and and the dirt was piled up behind the dressers. My husband was already asleep so a sat up. Then till 6 am there were people running up and down the stairs and jumping up and down on the 2nd floor and screaming. I called the office they did nothing!!!! We had to leave early but wasnt able to because we ended staying up most of the night. They woke my husband . Then at 9 am that GUY was knocking on our room door. I was very very upset. I told the office when we checked out they said nothing. It took 3 days to get ahold of the manager. HE cussed me out for complaining. I was not trying to get my money back I just wanted the issues taken care of. He yelled at me constantly. Then gave me the wrong number to corporate and when I got the corporate number they said they couldnt help. This hotel is horrible. We have seen drug addicts there as well. I will never stay there again.

I DID NOT LIKE ONE THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL, THE "OVERSEAS" PEOPLE THAT RUN THE PLACE ARE RUDE !!!!!!! TOLD ME TO KEEP MY ROOM CLEAN BECAUSE MY 2 YR OLD HAD 2 GRAPES ON THE FLOOR !! I MEAN HE'S 2 YRS OLD, THEY MAKE MESSES AND ISN'T THAT WHAT HOTEL SERVICES ARE FOR !!!, THE ROOM WAS NASTY THE SHEETS HAD CIGARETTE BURNS IN THEM ALONG WITH THE MATTRESSES, OUR ROOM WAS BY THE MAINTENENCE ROOM AND IT WAS VERY LOUD BECAUSE ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS DOORS SLAMMING ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT, THEY RUDE ABOUT THE WI-FI SERVICE THAT DID NOT WORK, THEY RUDE ABOUT GIVING ME NEW TOWELS, THIS WAS JUST THE MOST AWEFUL STAY EVER, I WILL SLEEP IN MY CAR NEXT TIME IF I CANT FIND ANY OTHER HOTELS !!!

I got a room for our wedding planner/florist. When he checked in, he asked about a late checkout and the girl said no problem. The next day a noon a guy locks him in the room and refuses to let him leave until he slides his credit card under the door. They charged him for the extra stay and then let him out. He showed alot more control than I would have. I did call corporate and complain and they said it was a franchise but the owner would contact me. I never heard anything.

There is nothing we liked or could even try to like about the Country Hearth at Exit 351 in Athens, AL. When we paid for the room and went to check it out ------- was on the office side of the building, the linens looked liked they had been used to wash up the street and rinsed out and the bottom of the door was wide open about an inch from one side to the other where any varmit could have crawled under the door. We called the office to tell the girl at the desk that we could not stay in that room and she asked why????? She brought a key down to us for the room next to the one we had paid for and we showed her the problems with the first room. We went to the room next door which we did stay in but decided later we were really stupid for not asking for a refund. The office clerk did take the wash cloths and said she would bring us some other ones but never did ---------- we had to go to the office to get more. They weren't much better than the ones in the first room and once they were wet were a very dark gray in color. We did check the beds before retiring for the night and the sheets/blankets appeared to be clean but were wrinkled so badly like they had been left in a dryer for days. The carpet was dark in color and you could tell it was not very clean but couldn't tell just how dirty it was because of the poor lighting in the room. When we were getting ready to leave the room my husband was sitting on the side of the one bed and with his cane moved something out from the floor on the other bed and it was a dead roach. The base of the toilet was filthy and the entire room and the previous room we did not take just about turned our stomachs. If we hadn't of traveled so far and my husband using a cane and having some physical problems we would have gone elsewhere but it was just too difficult to move elsewhere that night. The rug in the front lobby had been taped to the floor and the tape had come lose and the corners of the area rug were all rolled up and it could have been fallen over very easily. We had made reservations a day in advance as we found the ratings in the AAA tour book, had stayed at a Comfort Inn many times before at that same exit and chose to stay at a different place since it is also beginning to get old and not as clean as it once was. We will be contacting AAA about this motel and how they should be ashamed to even think of rating a motel that is so filthy and unkept. The end of the building we stayed at was also at the pool sight and it looked worse than a city dump, not that we were there to use the pool -------- just the appearance made one ill. Sorry that I cannot and will not rate this flea bitten motel and will certainly pass this info onto AAA immediately. Also ------- when we departed there was no Good Morning -------- How was your stay or even a Thank you when we checked out. Certainly would be great if we could deal with English speaking people and people that cared enough about their business and their customers to at least be kind and keep their places clean or SHUT their doors so others don't have to spend a miserable night as we did.
