We'd stay again, in a heartbeat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/16/09
Friendly, helpful staff that had lots of energy. They answered all our questions and arranged day trips that worked out great. They always took time to greet us as we were coming and going and no one was every grumpy. The room was smallish but it made you feel snug and comfy. The bed was wonderful. Bathroom was unique, never did get use to the shower handle and just the half door. The towels smelled as though the dryer had been too hot. Bar made great drinks and the food looked good even though we chose not to eat there...next time maybe! Appreciated the continental breakfast, it held us over until lunch. As Mikey says, 'try it, you'll like it!'

AWFUL HOTEL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/09
The O Hotel located in downtown Los Angeles is the worst hotel I have stayed in. The hotel admitted to mistakenly giving our reserved suite to another patron as an upgrade and they did not provide us with an acceptable replacement or solution option. We reserved the suite for a special occasion and came away with a waste of our time. Poor staff, room and customer service; the worst hotel experience. Save your money and your vacation - stay away from this hotel.

Nice Place for the Money
By NoahD, 9/9/08
Pros: Cheap Rates Convenient Location (just down the street from LA Metro Stop), easy access to the 110 Nicely Designed/Renovated Courteous Staff ------ Cons: Room was small Bathroom design isn't for everyone Very short list of extras (ie. no pool or health club, etc) ------ This hotel is for people who need a nice, cheap, alternative to the usual chain hotels in a convenient downtown LA location. It's definitely 'boutique' in that it's high on style, not so much on extras. I really dug the design, I appreciated the flat screen tv and ipod speaker in the room. I liked the european shower design, but I can see how some people would get really annoyed with it. If you order up a full-size room, be warned, it's small, think about the same size as an average college dorm room. If you have two people, go for the larger room if you can spare the coin. The staff was extremely helpful, again, I think this hotel is great for how I travel which is basically a nice, stylish place to sleep and stash my stuff. If you're looking for a hotel that has a more 'resort' feel, I'd look elsewhere. Note about location: I stayed in the hotel for one night, dropped my stuff and took off at 12pm, got back to my room about 1:30 in the morning. The financial district in LA is definitely urban, I never felt unsafe, as with all downtown areas, just use common sense and you should be fine.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!
By Audra, 8/12/08
I just got back from a trip to La where I booked a room at the O Hotel. Planned on staying at the O because of the ideal location and the glamour relayed through their website. As soon as we arrived, nothing went right with this hotel! A business partner of mine had delivered a package for me at the hotel. When I checked with the front desk, they said they had nothing and there was a chance they refused the package (but they could not give me a valid reason why they would refuse)- long story short, I've since returned home to follow-up with my partner and the package in fact was at the hotel and he had a claim # and everything on it. The customer service was horrific. I spoke to the manager while I was there to express how disappointed I was with the whole experience and this man couldnt have acted like he cared any less. The lack of communication between the employees there and the way they treat the guests makes me wonder how the heck they are still in operation. Also, the room.. while it felt very clean, it was also the smallest hotel room in the world. It was the size of a doghouse. literally. maybe 300 sq. ft. with no counter space, nothing accomodating. I will never recommend anyone I know to stay at this hotel! The experience I had was incredibly awful and never do I want to feel so unappreciated. Hello, we did spend a lot of money to stay there and it wasnt even worth the cost of staying at a Motel 6. Also, this review requires a star-vote under service and overall value... If I could give them 0 stars, I would have. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Best Boutique hotel I've ever stayed at
By Paulie G, 2/24/08
This is officially my new "home away from home." LOVED my time here. It has a very European/New York style and feel to it, from the atmosphere to the restaurant. The restaurant had just opened when we got there. The food was excellent and let me personally recommend the Wagyu Burger, easily the best burger I've had in all of my trips to L.A. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely be coming to the O Hotel. Way better than any corporate hotels I've stayed at before.

Over priced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/08
First off, it's clear that they put a lot of money into renovating this old hotel. But it's still an old hotel. The rooms are modern, stylish and clean, but very small. Think cramped, not cozy. The sound insulation is negligible and we heard all of our neighbors clearly. The elevator was also out of service for an entire day. The location was very scary. We did not feel comfortable walking outside the hotel. They have no parking arrangements with the nearby garages, so you pay full price every time you go in and out of the garage, or take your chances parking on the street. There are no standard hotel conveniences such as cable TV or ice machines. And all this cost us $475 for 2 nights. Not at all worth it.

Very Feng Shui
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/07
I really loved the feel of the hotel it was really serene--especially for Downtown LA. It had a really South Beach vibe and the staff was really great! The rate was unusually low, so I was weary at first. But it was probably one of the best hotel stays I've had-espeically for the price!
