Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages & Spa - Luxury Included Vacation, Providenciales

Our family, which consists of two adults, two young teens and a 6 yr old, thought this place was great. Many places do not accept more than 4 people in a room, Beaches does! The room was on the first floor and I worried about bugs etc. but it was not a problem. There were never any bugs/lizards in our room. Our room was clean and very nice, it was a jr. suite, the furniture appeared to be new and was very clean and comfortable. It seemed that housekeeping was there often, about three times a day. The beach was wonderful, the pools were great, The kids especially enjoyed the swim up bars to get their frozen drinks. The grounds were beautiful and well matained. Best of all, almost no bugs. At home misquitoes love us, there almost nothing. There are a bunch of small lizards around which we all thought was pretty cool, never bothered us. The resturants were ok to pretty good. The food was mostly buffet, which when on vacation with kids is a good thing. Nothing special, basic stuff, but plenty of variety to choose from. Not 5 star dining by any stretch of the imagination. If you choose a sit down meal restuarant, expect to spend a couple hours there. While the servers are mostly nice, they are very slow, almost as if they didnt care wether you got your food or not that day. And when you order you drinks/sodas, make sure you order them two at a time, because once you get your first one, its a while before they come back around to you for a refill. Overall though the food is descent, the servers could be better. The night life is ok, remeber this is a family resort, if you are looking for a party type atmosphere this is not the place for you. The shows were enjoyable as was the childrens entertainment. The best part was the Fri. night beach party!! A must! I do have to say that they promote the teen scene as much more than it actually is. My teens didnt really do any of the teen activities because whenever they showed up for one, nothing much was going on. But usually by the night they were pretty beat anyway, after swimming all day. But they did offer many things for the younger set and it is really a comfortable setting for all the children. The slides were a big hit with all my kids, and they are currently building a bigger waterpark on the grounds. As far as things to do, we were busy for all of the 7 days we were there and we did not do any out of resort excersions. except the para sailing. You will also get your excercise there, the grounds are sprawling and you will be walking a bit to get to all the pools and restuarants. It may take a day or two to learn your way around. And if you plan on swimming later in the day or in the evening, plan ahead and take a couple extra pool towels from the pool area in the morn to save for later, because chances are pretty good that there will be no new towels left by late afternoon. The taxi ride to/from the hotel was very quick and no problem. Overall we fell that this was a wonderful vacation, if for nothing else the beach, and like anyplace you will ever go there may be hiccups in your stay, no place is perfect, but this place made us happy/relaxed and very glad we went and we are looking foward to returning. Even my teens can't wait to return.
