it was great
By football guy, 1/28/12
over all i like everything about the place i took my son there he is 14years old it was the first time for the both of us he had a great time when he went to the teen club he was talking to some girls who asked him where he was from when replied jersey shore they asked him the t.v show he said that the jersey shore is not like that stupid t.v show again like everything from the room we were in the italian village had a butler suite i think that is what they call it to snorkling to scuba diving the pool was great so was the beach. food was pretty good.i did not do any shopping but walk around the place while he was off to the beach i felt he was safe enough to be off by himself besides he meet a few friends while he was there and he was having a blast hanging with them at the beach any way would go back again but the next time i while take some tours into the town and see what that has to offer

From Great to So So
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/11
A Beaches T&C vacation is expensive. Their airport is supposedly about to be renovated and that is a Good thing !. They are not prepared for that many tourists. No A/C.... one sorta restaurant.....I'm told that the airport is almost empty except on Saturdays.... on our Saturday departure there were not enough chairs to accommodate more than about a third of us waiting for our planes. The resort is beautiful. The people that work there are very friendly. The grounds are perfectly manicured. Spotlessly clean. My family of 4 (53, 42, 7, 14) started to stay in a "ocean view" suite~ well if I stood on a chair and bent my head at a 65 degree angle I could almost see the sea.~ So we upgraded ~ They wanted $1900 for the upgrade~ I paid $1200. I let my travel agent know and she contacted Beaches. The next day I got a call from the Exec. VP who apologized and refunded my $1200.Our concierge was very interested in selling me the upgrade and promised to reserve us spots at the beach every day... that lasted 2 days and we never heard from him again ! The view was great. We spent a lot of time on the balcony. We were in the Italian Village and were on the 6th floor. One of the 2 elevators was out of service all week. The French village looks beautiful. The Caribbean Village buildings look badly outdated.... Looks like where I would send my kids to summer camp.... but again, the grounds were beautiful. There is virtually no adult entertainment. There were a bunch of Sesame Street shows and my 7 year old really enjoyed them. Cruises do a better job of night time entertainment. The pools are all beautiful and spotless. The beach has the softest sand to ever slip between my toes. The water is basically calm but with enough wave action to make it fun... Bring lots of sunscreen. Let's talk food ~ The 2 adult only restaurants food was top rate. Some of the other meals we had were very good but nothing special. If you are expecting 5 star dining.... it ain't happening.... not even in the adult only restaurants.... 4 stars maybe..no better. I love eggs Benedict... tried to eat them 4 times....cold everytime..... cold eggs benedict are not tasty.....The Japanese hibachi style restaurant was very good and a lot of fun.... with so many restaurants you won't go hungry even if your delicate palette is not fully pleased with each bite. That brings me to my biggest peeve.... resorts this pricey should not reserve room service to those willing to pay for butler suites.... now come on.... my local embassy suite offers room service... for a world class resort to make me get up and walk across 500 yards to get juice and a bagel is just being cheap.....OH and.... you know those little plastic solo cups.... that is what almost every drink is served in.... sure they will give you as many as you want....but its obvious this is designed to save money..... and if you want something other than the house brand of wine.... you pay ! Everything in the gift shops are outrageously priced.... t shirts $25- $30 dollars.... baseball caps $28... a kid's plastic bucket and shovel... $24.... We bought 18 of their professional pictures on a disc... no prints.... $215 All in all this is a very nice place to vacation...I'm betting for less than $20 - $50 per person they could address my "concerns." At the prices they charge... that could easily be absorbed or I bet people would pay the upcharge. In today's economy we all should expect more for our hard earned money. This is an expensive vacation and for just a bit more effort and a little less squeezing of the nickel this place could really be the best all inclusive resort in the Caribbean. We had a great time... we rolled with the punches... we all got a lot of sun... I played in the surf with my son.... we took hundreds of pictures and made great memories...and in the end, what more can a resort offer?

Worst vacation ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/11
The rooms were dirty and small, the all inclusive deal was overpriced and the service was a 2 star service.

Best place on earth
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/11
First let me say I love this place, food, rooms everything is great, we are going again this August this will be our 6th year there we go with a group of friends that we met there, yes some of the rooms are outdated BUT you only sleep in the room you are outside all day we stay and always stay in the French Village , because we have gone so many times they have asked us if we wanted an upgade we always said no, we like the bartenders and the staff in the french village.(Obrien the head bartended is the best) We have never had a proublem we anything and or anyone while we where there, if we asked them for something it was in our room when we got back. for anyone that has had a proublem with service and did not like the rooms then do us all a favor and stay away from Beaches, go spend your hard earn money some where else I can say you are not wanted there by the staff and the guest staying there, I cant wait till August and I will be booking next years trip when I am there .

Horrible... All Hype
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/11
Room was clean. Plumbing problems they are aware of and don't fix. Beach was beautiful, if you can ignore the beggars... The food was horrible. Such a waste of hard earned money. Very, very disappointing.

Run, Don't walk from this place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/11
If you want to go to a beautiful island...to get away from the crowds....then THIS ISN"T THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!....The island is nice, but why go all the way here to get away and stand in huge lines for food and excursions, and also be wall-to-wall on the beach??? It makes no sense. This place is way too crowded. Find another place on island to get away from the huge crowds. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE!!!! And it's overpriced too...what a waste of money.

Best vacation ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/11
I think some of the reviewers that gave this resort a poor rating just made stuff up, seriously. There is nothing not to love about this place. My wife and I have gone to Aruba, Cancun and Cabo...none of them compare to Beaches at Turks! We went here for our 20 year wedding anniversary and took our 11 and 13 year old sons- time...of...their...lives! Maybe we had such a fantastic experience because we stayed in the newest building in the Italian Village (I've heard the older/cheaper rooms are night and day with where we stayed), I don't know, but it was amazing. GREAT food (all varieties, all you can eat), drink (all varieties), snorkeling, parasailing, shopping (just outside the hotel gate!), sunsets, beaches, accomodations, everything! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :)

How much do they charge the rats?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/11
Although the resort was beautiful - beauty is only skin deep. A rat scampered past us when we left our second floor room. When we brought it to the attention of the manager he tried to convince me it was a cat. The dropping along the corridor everyday told me exactly what I saw. (Not that I ever doubted what I saw!) Our safe broke (something on the inside became disconnected). They worked on it for several hours while we had to wait with the maintenance and security. They did not get it open that night so the next morning, after several more hours and many broken drill bits they managed to get it open. I loved the town - and felt safe to go for a walk into the shopping area. Highly recommend a visit to Danny Buoys - and bring some steak seasonings home - they were a big hit. Visit Turks and Caicos - but you may want to rethink Beaches.

Poor resort
By abir, 8/6/10
After reading other reviews and how great this resort is, I booked family trip last week of July (24-31st) 2010. All were very excited when landed until we arrived to check in. We were told at reservation desk that our reservation got cancelled!!!. While there is no way our travel agent they did this, they said it was an error and after 3 hours they found a room for us. Apart from human error, the food was average to below average quality as compared to other less expensive resorts. Staff was friendly but seemed over worked and in some cases they were rude. Beach was excellent that is only good part, but with what we were charged we could have gone somewhere else. Finally we were charged on Visa card and still I do not know what were charges for, could be another error but overall not recommended for this amunt of money to anyone.
