6 reviews for Grand Hi-Lai Hotel, Kaohsiung
Hope to go back there someday
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/08
During my ever first visit to Taiwan I stayed at the Grand Hi Lai for two weeks in februari. I really felt at home far away from home. This is all thanks to the staff of the hotel itself, specially those from the Lobby Lounge. Never seen so many hard working friendly people doing their best to make you feel at home. Almost every night live music. The room was very good and clean. Apart from the service and the rooms, the hotel has one more big advantage. Where ever you are in Kaohsiung, you cannot miss the hotel especially at night. In april I went there again for one week and people still remembered me. I hope to go back there some day.

Great location but dirty bathrooms
By Bay area traveler, 12/26/07
We stayed there last year during chinese New year and had the most horrible week! We were moved from two different deluxe suites that had "toilet" backing up and foul smelling issues! For what I paid $400/night I expected better service and cleanliness! Beware of the top two floors! The sewage at that level backs up and have problems when they are at full occupancy! I felt like I was staying at motel 6 ! If you are accustom to staying at St Regis/Westin/Ritz or the equivalent this place is not for you! Not up to that type of standard. I give it Two stars only because the location is awesome! and spa facilities are nice

Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/26/07
This hotel is a great place if you want to stay for leasure or business. Accomodations are great and service is fantastic. Besides the great restaurants that are in the hotel itself, the breakfast buffet is extraordinary with so many things to try and choose from. It is conveniently attached to the big department store.

Always Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/06
I have been visiting Kaohsiung for approximately 3 years and would not stay at any other hotel. Staff and service are excellent and they never forget your name.

I might go again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/05
The overall services were great, but one thing that i dislike for - is the parking lot, way to small and discomfort. The advantage of it will be the location because it is located in the urban area so it's quiet easy for the foreigner to find places to go.
