Poor Customer Service
By baffled, 3/13/12
LOve the resort..the only place i would stay if in Orlando. I have been a returning customer for 2 years...Recently called and had a rude interaction with a staff who was the least of accomodating. The whole interaction made me feel very uncomfortable and not wanting to stay there anymore. I guess you come by rude people all the time...but she made me feel like I was asking for a free stay I just wanted to cancel a night, with rights to my money and if I wasn't entitled then I wanted to know why. Not asking too much I thought but to her it was and she felt she need to tell me what I was saying...and wouldn't let go- wrong line of business...

Nice RV destination
By Tennessee, 2/11/12
Tropical Palms is beautiful and well kept. I was disappointed that I did not get to play cards any in my 2 week stay. Noone showed up at the designated time. Also the jewelry class did not have any lesson planned. Mosquitoes were really bad there also. They had a good music show but the food served was rare and I had to go home and cook dinner afterward.

Won't go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/11
We have stayed here before and loved it. This time, maybe there is different management or management is just not taking care of the place. We stayed in a cottage, it was very dusty and had mutliple things broken. Also, when it rained, which was every day, the inside of the cottage smelled like sewer. When we complained, there was no apology or nothing.

We'll Be Back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/11
We booked our very special holiday to Florida in May 2010, for May 2011, it was a surprise for the children of 3 different families and 14 of us went all together. We all wanted our own space and I in particular wanted to go self catering so there wouldn't be any need to go every night for a meal. It was at my suggestion that we go to Tropical Palms, the first time for everyone. The cottages were clean and had everything you could need. I have never been anywhere self catering that comes in and cleans for you, but we did have a cleaner in half way through our stay, they replenished washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, soap and toilet rolls, gave us clean towels and bedding. We had gone out and bought some of these items, not expecting that. We were a couple of hundred yards from the pond, where my husband our friend and the children would go down and fish, really early in the morning before we would hit the Disney park of the day, they are all a stones throw away, nice and close. The kids, and me, loved to see the alligators and the turtles swimming around and they all caught loads of fish, it was great. Most of our party got bitten at least once whilst we were there, but then if you sit outside at night what do you expect!! We didn't have any problems with any other insects, ants, cockraoches etc, during our stay, not that you can have a go at the park for that anyway!! Everyone was welcoming and friendly, the pool we had pretty much to ourselves most of the time, except at the weekends when it got a bit busier, but we did go outside of American school holidays I believe. It saved us stacks of money staying there, self catering meant we could take sandwiches and snacks into the parks everyday and there are two big Walmart shops just up the road, with a lot of other supermarkets around the area too. The cottages aren't huge, but they were big enough. We didn't go there to live in for two weeks, we needed somewhere to sleep, eat and rest, the kitchen had all we needed, a fridge for the beer, a freezer for the ice cream and a microwave for the pancakes :) Sorted!! We are already thinking about going back to Florida and this will be the first place I contact when we do. We have already recommended it to 3 of our friends.

Never Again
By chip, 8/19/10
I have been going to this place for years and loved it. This time me and my girlfriend decided to get married there in the veranda. We had 4 different cabins with 17 people in them. We were told that we get a discount if we had more then 10 people. Will that never happened and I was laughed at every time I asked about it.Our cottage A/C did not work when we checked in which was fixed pretty fast. There were candy all over the floors that housekeeping didnb't bother picking up they just swept them in the corner. We were scheduled there for 7 days and were told there was a $50.00 charge for housekeeping to clean and change the linen while we were there. We ran out of toilet paper after the 3rd day and had to buy more because they would not supply more..one of the cottages had a rat in the wall. They called the front desk and was told someone would take care of it and no one showed up.I use to like this place but I saw angry employees who did not like there boss and we suffered. Bad management has caused us not to like this place anymore. I would rather stay in a $25.99 hotel room then stay here again.

AWESOME, AWESOME Can't wait to go back!!!
By L.F., 6/18/09
A friend told me about this place and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Our family enjoyed Disney and Universal which are just up the road. The pool was great, I couldn't get the kids out. Our cottage was great we did stay in one of the newer ones (hint, hint) My kids and I love this place and would recommend it too anybody. The cottages have kitchens which worked out well to save a little money from going out every night. Tropical Palms was great.

Never ever ever ever going back to this place
By Family Vacation, 4/16/09
A co worker had recommended this place since we needed a place to go for a vacation in a last minute while the kids are out for spring break. It was my husband & I & our 4 kids along with one of our niece. We booked a 2 bedroom premiere which comes to 2 bedroom, with 3 bunk beds in 1 room & a pull out bed on the couch. It seems like & sounded like a pretty big room if you ask me, but when we got there, the whole place is so small, the bedroom are so small that you can't even barely move. My husband is 5'11, he wouldn't even fit on the bed length wise, we had to sleep separately in a different bed & room since our 3 yrs old stayed with 1 of us on the bed, the bed was hard & even the kitchen was so small that only 1 person can be in it or else you won't even be able to open the refrigerator. We booked this place Sunday to the following Saturday, we didn't even stay all the way on our vacation since this place is so freaking small for a family. We paid about $149 per night to stay here, we spent about $750 for that almost week, on top of paying that amount, there was no house keeping so I had to clean that whole week while we were on our vacation since I didn't want our little 10 months old crawling on a dirty floor. We also had to pay extra for a new fresh towels if we need to. If you ask me, getting a hotel would be a much much better thing to do than staying in this place. You can get a really good hotel for less than $100, with a housekeeping everyday & a new fresh towels everyday with no extra charge. Then for sure you can call it a vacation.

I will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/08
The place was a MESS! I was so gross out. At first house keeping can in everyday, but it stop after we were they for 8 days. We went to the front desk at 11:30(after a full day in the parks) and the person said you need to have a stay more than 12 days. We were staying for 13 days. She said she would have housekeeping come the next day.Nobody came we had no towels, toliet paper and to make things worse. We has a HUGE cockroach on are wall. I called the front desk and told them I was IRATE and wanted a manager to call me in the morning. No big surpise,no one called I went and spoke with Mary who had every excuse, said they were just brought out.I told her that was not my problem..She said she would refund me 1 night. I went back that day to make sure the refund was put in.she left and never did it. On top of that 1/2 the dryer was not working, ate up my money, 1/3 of the washer were out of order too. BIG disappointment. Will never step a foot in the dirty non working place again. It put a big dramper on our family vacations. Also if the pool is open 24 hours a day, when do they put the stuff to clean out the pool? I didn't allow my children to go in. I was afraid to sleep in there. I came home and wash everything I was total gross out.

Never again, save your money
By S., 7/12/08
We, and four other families booked this place for a reunion. It was such a disappointment. The floors of our cabin were filthy. We asked for a top sheet for the sofa bed the first night and never got it. A Ritz cracker would have been thicker than the mattress on the sofa bed, which was filled with crumbs. (Hmmm maybe it was a cracker) On the first night the power went out and didn't come back on until the next morning at 5 a.m. in late June! HOT The shower door in our cabin fell off on top of my daughter while she was in the tub and the screen door to another cabin kept falling off. The crew in the on-site restaurant was overwhelmed when five families decided to order dinner, it took them nearly an hour to get it together. To top off a miserable three days, they shut off the water just before checkout to fix a leak -- people trying to leave couldn't shower, brush their teeth or even go to the bathroom. When I went to complain the front desk was clueless and didn't even try to apologize. When I wrote a letter to the hotel complaining I never received a reply. Go back? Not on your life.
