Our Home Away From Home
By Bill from Ohio, 6/30/11
. I have been returning to Siesta Key for summer vacations for the past 40 years and have stayed at alot of places but the Palm Bay (12 of those years) is by far our favorite. Super Clean units, Nice pool area, fishing dock at the bay and the best beach in the world, how can anyone complain. There is so much to do nearby in the village and a ton of resturants on the trail. You are literally minutes away from what ever you need. The staff has always been friendly to us and security guards in golf carts that are always around. The grounds are nicely kept. Grab a cabana or lounge chair and relax in the Siesta Sun and Sand.

most beautiful beach
By KimG, 5/28/08
We went here in the beginning of May for a girls long weekend for my sisters 21st birthday. The beach is GORGEOUS, the sand is AMAZING(see pics) You can see your feet right through the water. The hotel itself is set on a private section of Siesta Key beach. We stayed in the grand tower with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was bigger then I thought it would be. We were absolutely blown away at how nice this place was. We had a straight on view of the beach and ocean from our living room. The Siesta Village is small and cute. I would highly recommend going to a place called Gilligans for night life. Its deceiving from the outside, but really cool inside (and the outside section of the bar was a nice touch) When we were there they had a cover band playing which was pretty good (very loud inside) and then after 10 there is a DJ. There is an outdoor pool table, fire pit and a few cabanas to hang out in. We had a blast and loved Siesta Key. We also went to Sarasota which is a short drive, where there are a bunch of restaurants and bars as well. The only bad thing that we experienced are these things called "love bugs" We found out from some of the residents there that they come every year for 2 weeks sometimes close to the end of April, early May. Well sure enough they were there when we were. They are these little bugs that are attached to eachother (hense the love bug name I am guessing) They don't bite or sting, but are extremely annoying when they fly into your face and trust me the SWARMS of them will!!! At one point it got so bad we actually left the beach and went to the pool (where they were a little better but not much) Then before you know it they are gone. We were there 3 full days and saw them everyday but they were really bad only one of those days. (you can tolerate them the other days, it was still annoying but you get used to it) I also heard of something called red tide. Luckily we didn't have that. I guess there is a time of year where certain fish die, and wash up on the beach. It gets so bad they have to close the beaches. Again I would research this before going. To sum it up,I think it was well worth the money. Some of the places that were right next door were just as expensive but looked like dives compared to ours. By far the best "hotel" on the beach! I forgot to mention that we also saw a dolphin and a manatee right in the water with us close enough to where some people got out of the water (the manatee was HUGE and very frightening to see if you didn't know what it was you could think it was a shark) Can't wait to go back next year!

I pick the same room every year.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/08
This is the best beach in florida. The sand is crystal white and never gets hot. The tower is only a step from the beach. Can't afford the ocean view but being at the tower makes for a quick walk to the beach. I love the unit 46. Going back again next year.

Wonderfully Relaxing
By Steve, 6/27/07
We were there for our 1st anniversary weekend. Had the staff put their "Romance package" in the room for us on arrival. Wine, chocolate covered strawberries, fruit, mini-muffins, croissants and bagels in a basket were all wonderfully presented and tasted good! (The strawberries were the largest and most perfect I'd ever seen). Definitely a place for two to just relax. Staying in the tower, the beach is just a few steps away. Most rooms overlook the gulf (the higher you are in the tower, the better). The most relaxing vacation either of us has ever had and we would definitely go back again!

we would go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/07
Place is spaceous and clean. If you get a unit on the bay side, expect long walk to the beach. No bathrooms available close to the beach. Pool areas are nothing special. Overpriced! Nice beach!! Good place to share with friends.

2007 - Laid Back & Restful
By Brad, 3/4/07
Palm Bay Club provides excellent accomodations on Siesta Key in a well maintained laid back atmosphere. While most of the rooms are on Gulf side. for past two Spring breaks, we've enjoyed the rooms on the more quiet Bay side so that the Sunsets at Siesta Key were only a short walk away. Accomodations come complete w\ Cable TV, kitchen, wireless internet access. Site has two pools and tennis courts plus some pretty good fishing(at times) off the dock on waterway. Friendly and professional staff. Problem? You only have to ask. Ambiance. Like most of Siesta Key. Would recommend to over mainly 40+ visitors or for "Family Reunion". Value? With such an supply available in the local area during early peak season, it would appear that only 50% of the units were occupied during our latest visit in March 2007.

Have been going forclose to 40 years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/06
I have been going to the Palm Bay Club since I was 10 years old. Used to be THE BEST place to go on Siesta Key. Now, I am almost embarrassed to say that I have been going for as long as I have. Still love the beach and all 4 of my children have grown up going there. It is home away from home to them, however, management and customer service is awful!!! Customers are treated like their money doesnt' mean anything. Rules have gotten out of hand and since when is the customer not always right??? Usually construction going on and makes me feel like i shoudl be getting a discount instead of paying what I am to stay there. Beach is the best, customer service is NOT!!!!
