Holiday Inn Resort Orlando The Castle, Orlando

My fiance and I are having our wedding at the Castle Hotel. This place is so gorgeous. From the moment you drive up, you get this fairytale feeling that only intensifies throughout your stay. The outside is built like a castle, when you walk in there's a huge dragon dressed in Renaissance clothing, beautiful knick-knacks everywhere, dim candlelit hallways, and shimmering everything. The pool is a humongous circle with a beautiful fountain in the middle, with the poolside bar, Jester's Court, just around the corner for a quick lemonade or martini to cool off. All the rooms are cleverly named as well to bring about that Renaissance - fairy-tale atmosphere. The employees are fantastic and always so helpful. This is the perfect place for romance, and even better for a wedding!

We stayed here over for 2 nights over the new year 05. When you first walk in the front door, the lobby will take your breath away, it is stunning. The decor throughout the hotel is beautiful. They gave us free cookies when we checked in, they were really good. The pool is massive and heated and their is a hot tub next to it. The location was great. Within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and a movie theater. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spacious. The worst part of our stay was all of the kids running around without parental supervision. Not just a few here and there, but lots of them. Another pro/con was that when you get into the elevator, you must scan your room key to even push the button for your floor. It was good that no one could be on your floor that shouldn't be there, but if you came in arms full of bags or luggage, you must dig out your room card/key to use the elevator. I personally wouldn't do it again because I don't have children, but my friend was with me and she has them and they enjoyed it.

My favorite place to stay in Orlando. I've stayed at many places in Orlando, but the Castle remains my favorite. The beds are like home. And I did not want to leave the bathroom, with all the little things on the counter. I really liked that the main restroom in the lobby had regular wash rags to dry your hands. That was a nice touch.

My first impressions of the hotel were mixed. The castle decor gives the place a strange ambiance, but I enjoyed my stay very much. Children and teens would probaly find the castle motif more enchanting than I did.

Hotel is OK. Rooms are not so big, and especially the bathroom is smallish. Decoration of rooms is so so, i didn't really like it. Hotel is a bit ageing in my opinion. Needs a refurbishment perhaps. Lobby area is small and not very friendly.

I went to the double tree castle in march of 2006. I could not wait to get there the pictures made it look gorgeous! When i got there i loved the different channels of soothing music in the rooms, the pool was amazing with the dolphins statue in the middle, the great smoothies and beverages at the bar by the pool, the two different terraces at either end of the castle it was all beautiful I really did feel like royalty. Not to mention the front desk workers were excellent they were always ontop of everything the pool towels needed to be refilled, we needed soap or shampoo or toothpaste. They had it to us right away. The only part that i would have changed about the castle was its hallways, they were the only part that made it look, sorta cheap. But, other than that I LOVED my stay there and cafe tu tu tango right behind the castle with its own little walkway from the castle made a convinient lunch and or dinner restaurant. I would love to go back and stay there again and i hope that someday i will.

My fiance and I stayed at the Castle this January of 2006 for 4 nights, and it truly was a magical experience. The hotel is even more beautiful inside than the exterior (difficult to believe), the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The afternoon we arrived, as soon as we went into our room that we were unpacking, we got a courtesy welcome call on the phone welcoming us to the hotel and they told us if we needed anything to please dial a certain extention and some one would be there to serve us. We also got 2 warm delicious chocolate chip cookies when we checked in. The environment is very relaxed and quiet. The beds are the closest thing to home, they were so comfy and the bedding linens were white and clean and fluffy. This hotel was awesome, and my finace wants to go back next time!

This hotel is very comfortable and spacious.You get everything you pay for and its great for kids and teens and adults. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone of any age group.

Stayed about a week. Original and interesting decor - nicely themed, but to keep to the theme everything (hallways, room) was dark. Check in was OK and they gave cookies. Additional cookies cost $. Gift "shop" was displays in the lobby with interesting stuff. Room was clean but headposts on bed were cloth covered, never cleaned and covered with lint, hair, etc. Clock alarm had cable connector so you can attach your computer speakers, iPod etc. Medieval/classic music which is OK at first but does get tiring is piped to your room (and hall and pool and lobby and everywhere) In room it can be turned down (whew!). Internet with your laptop cost $$. You can "access" the internet through the TV (very limited) and there is a TV option to turn on "adult" (porn) web sites - whoa - wait a minute - isn't this a "family" hotel? - definitely not right. You can block it for the duration of your stay, but if you don't know about it... Coin laundry on washer, one dryer, dryer had protective plastic part missing which could damage clothes (I just washed jeans etc and nothing was damaged) Check out - person before me had an issue and they took a long time to take care of it then my turn, and I tried to work out a bogus charge for breakfast on my bill (never tried it) - spent more than a half hour trying to settle it, they said they would take care of it (needed to catch plane) but they didn't and finally credit card company took care of it. Interesting to visit once, probably will stay somewhere else - there are so many choices in the area. I think you pay extra for the theme.

This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. There was absolutely nothing to like about this hotel. The floor of our room was disgusting. It was stained and nasty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable as well. The cherry of the stay was when all of our purchases for the week was stolen out of our room. We spent an entire day of out vacation dealing with th hotel and the Orlando police dept. The hotel investigation can be summed up to asking the maid if she did it and her answer was "no". There reply to us was we're sorry but here is a free breakfast. Their staff was not prepared to deal with this situation and handled it inappropriately. I would not feel safe returning to this hotel.
