Quality Inn Carbondale, Carbondale

I have stayed here on several occasions since my son attends SIU and have never had any problems. Always very welcoming - and surprisingly quite given I've usually been down there are SIU weekends! They have really made an effort to correct any issues.

Woke me up in the middle of the night with a recorded message that it was time to check out and I just got there. Still had three nights to go! There was crap on my floor one day after the "cleaning staff" came in to clean. The pool water was cold and the light wasn't turned on. I never found a key that worked on my room door! I do not recommend this place to ANYONE!!

When I arrived we had to wait in a line of 10 people, which took about 30 minutes because people were upset that the prices were different than what they were told. When it was finally my turn, they told me the same thing. My price had gone up $10.00 which is not alot but it is the principal of the matter. As I was walking to my room one of the family members was spraying insecticide on the floor and the walls and did not even stop when he saw me coming. The smell of the hotel was horrible. It was stuffy in the main hallway and lobby. The family who owns the hotel does not speak english very well and they are the only staff for the hotel. Anytime you would need to use the lobby computer you could not because the family was on the computer everytime. The only good thing about the stay was that it was a short one, two nights and all I did was sleep there. I will not be going back.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights and was pleased with the room and the rest of the facilities. The breakfast was adequate as well. It's not a 4-star hotel but it was clean and comfortable. It was a very good value and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
