will NOT reccommend this hotel

I had reservations for a romantic birthday weekend.. We reserved the honemoon suite. Arrived at the hotel to find out our room was given away because someone else made reservations (afer us) in person instead of through hotels.com. which in my opinion is BS! Johnny at the front desk was very nice and trid to be accomodating... there are only 2 rooms with a "soaking tub" they didnt bother to tell me the jacuzzi no longer worked adn it was only for soaking... Johnny offered to do an upgrade for free but needed approval. Ellie pretended to be the manager and denied his request... she was extremly rude.. had me in tears at her front counter... not only was she rude to me she was rude to a couple next to us who had just made reservations and after the fact was told they could not check in for a couple of hours because the rooms are not guarenteed until 5 ish. they asked her if they found another hotel if they could cancel, very rudely and with a smirk on her face told them that without a 24 hour cancellation notice they will still be charged one night... they just made the reservations 10 minutes prior. the rooms they tried to downgrade me too were dark dingy, very cramped, and just not what we reserved...nothing romantic about it.
I highly recommend The Courtyard at Marriots just across the highway from Oxford. the entire staff was friendly, very accomodating and gave a better rate!!! we ended up staying an extra night just becasue of the friendly atmosphere and cleaniless of this hotel. (apparently they get frustrated oxford customers regularly.. hmmmm wonder why?)
I called headquarters for Oxford just to find out Ellie is NOT a manager!!! go figure!!!!
