On the old musty side
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/09
Pros: Very big and open, nice conference rooms and lounge. Kinkos in lobby. Great people in the Concierge Lounge. Good location. Cons: My room was on the 23rd floor, but a friend on a lower floor had a fridge?! Towels had funny smell and room in general. TV cabnets are old and need replacing. Door fell off on friend foot when being moved to open to TV. Old wall paper. Didn't get consistent turndown service. Empty cups and glasses were left on table as well.

DO NOT ARRANGE A GROUP ROOM BLOCK WITH THIS HOTEL!
By Michael, 11/24/08
We arranged a wedding room block at this hotel for our guests. A month before our guests deadline to book thier rooms, they decide that they will not offer the rooms to us anymore because they can get someone else to reserve the rooms for a higher rate. Bottom line, they screwed us, the contract we had with them ...for the $$$. Not only that ,they were horrible to work with from day one.

They Care!
By Andy, 09/14/08
in addition to virtually EVERY employee there greeting you with a smile and a friendly catch phrase, they went outof there way when it came to detailed customer service. it was roughly 3:00AM with my " do not disturb" sign on my door. there was a knock, i was very alarmed. somebody knocking on yoru hotel room that late is very alarming. thinking it was the wrong room somebody was knocking on, i went back to sleep. then about 45 minutes later it happened again. this time i got up and looked throug the peephole. i saw a security guard there. i asked him what was up. he said that he wanted to make sure everything was ok, because the front desk noticed my phone was off the hook.( it was, never knew it) it was well worth being woken up for that. not many other hotels or people for that matter would give such detail to customer care so late at night. that alone will make me go back there again, and not consider ANY OTHER HOTEL, not even with price a consideration. i mean, would you really not want to spend a few extra bucks to make sure that somebody will be watching your back along with your loved ones? clean hotel. outstanding service, and great value. recommed to everyone. thank you!

Location, Location, Location
By wayneC, 09/10/07
The staff at this hotel are excellent from the valet to porter to Check-in desk and reverse order as you depart. I requested an early check-in time, 2PM, a reservation at the restaurant and a room upgrade, double to queen. Two out of three, no problem. Upgrade to a queen was not given, upgrade was given to a King! Although the hotel was totally booked for the weekend there was no delay in any service and all staff remained extremely helpful and pleasant. I treated my wife to the on-site spa and the works- her 4 hour treatment(s) made her one happy birthday girl. The location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing, and any mode of transportation is at the door. We will return to Philly and will certainly return to the Marriott Downtown.

Center to all the action.
By David, 09/06/07
Walking distance to Town Hall, JFK Park, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Penn Station and dining. Parking was difficult and inflated, but this was the case throughout downtown and Market Street. We were barely in our room, so we had our incidentals turned off. Front desk was none too pleased with our request. We also found it odd the conceirge would be absent during Labor Day weekend. The front desk sent us in completely the wrong direction to the Museum of Art. They did provide a map, so we just struck out on our own. We absolutely loved downtown Philadelphia, so it coloured our attitude toward the hotel. With her travel agent discount it was an affordable stay. All in all we rated it a good experience.

Great Convention Ctr Location
By Debbie, 04/18/07
Great location and wonderful hotel. It's connected to the convention center, so if the weather is crummy, you don't have to worry!! The king bed rooms are perfect - a little sitting area, desk, and of course that comfy bed!!! The bathrooms are luxurious -- lots of room, lots of mirrors, great water pressure, large shower head and the tub always drains. My only complaint is that housekeeping doesn't come at the same time each day, so I asked for cleaning during a certain time and I was taken care of.

Nice place, Excellent Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
This hotel is in a good location, pretty accessible to everything downtown. The hotel staff was really nice. We drove to the Liberty Bell, but it's not far from hotel. Valet parking was kinda expensive at $35 a night, which adds up when you're staying for a long vacation!
