Econo Lodge Fontana, Fontana

Our experience at the Econo Lodge Fontana CA was a horrible one for me and my family. This was suppose to be a fun vacation as we were coming from San Francisco to Fontana, CA for my brother's wedding. I had called at least two months in advance looking for four rooms for two nights seeking the best rate for a decent place to stay for four separate families. The desk clerk quoted us $65.00 (including tax) which she said was a "Special Rate". As we were searching online we realize that this was the best deal. I quickly called back to confirm the price and when the desk clerk confirmed the price I immediately reserved the four rooms. We were excited and was looking forward to be at my brother's wedding. You can only imagine our shock after driving eight hours that when we got there we were told that the manager at the Econo Lodge was not going to to honor the rate that they quoted us. We were not given a reason why nor were we given a courtesy phone call. The clerk claimed that they tried to a call us but none of our family member received any calls or have records of any calls from Econo Lodge. They offered us their regular rate of $90.00 per room per night. I was outraged and demanded to speak to the manager. The cowardly manager did not come out of her office and sent the clerk out with an offer of $75.00 per room per night. We felt like hostages as it would be too much looking for new rooms now that we were already in town. Plus they said they would impose a cancellation fee if we switch to a new hotel. We had no viable choice but to stay. The rooms were ordinary, the service was lousy and they were generally rude to us; not to mention the cockroach we found in one of the rooms. We are not rich people and seldom travel but have always had a great time when we do travel. If you want to be treated like a second class citizens, be given lousy treatment and go through their bait and switch practices then Econo Lodge Fontana, CA is the place for you. Simply speaking this experience for us was THE WORST
