Worst Hotel I Ever Stayed At--Honestly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
I've never been particularly fond of Comfort Inns, but this one takes the cake. It's a dump. After hiking in Acadia all day, I had planned to stay here one night, and I made an online reservation thru Comfort Inn. I arrived to find they had no record of my online reservation. Even when I gave them a confirmation number, they still denied it! They said they only had one room left (which I now suspect was a lie), but it was a smoking room. Ok, I was warned it would smell, but this was horrible! The rugs throughout the entire hotel (room, hallways, dining room) were all filthy and stained. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower drained very, very slowly. Nothing like standing in dirty shower water. There is no elevator in this hotel, and it's a haul to 2nd rooms. The hallways are long and dark, and I had security concerns. There is no vending on the 2nd floor, so be prepared to walk down to get ice or a drink. I spoke with several members of the staff in an effort to resolve my reservation problem, and I found them all to be quite rude. Not one apology was given to me. Stay here if you want, but don't say you weren't warned!
