Bay Front Inn, Santa Cruz

The place was dirty and my camera was stolen I notified the staff and nothing was done the guy seemed as if he could care less. I have been trying to contact a manager for a week now still no luck worst place ever!!!!

Great location and facility that is trying. If you check in and JC helps you, you'll have a great stay. We had the luck on checking on an afternoon when JC was working the front desk. Had a few problems with our room, and JC went WELL ABOVE the call of duty to make things right. I wish every hotel had staff that cared so much about customer satisfaction. The hotel is older. Many of the rooms are newly remodeled. Still working out a few details, but given the location and the cost, hotel is a great value.

the guy at the front desk was nice, he offered me a free upgrade if i promised to write a review, (good or bad). 1. front door had one full sized glass pane. very unsafe,break the glass reach in and open the door. while in the room you could pull the curtain to cover the door but, when you leave there is no way to close the curtain so people can look into your while you're away. 2. floor was dirty with dust and hair. 3. tub had been recaulked but, you could still see old mold and dirt in the caulking. 4. the heater did not work, the front desk said it takes a long time to warm up but, it never did. 5. no drawers. A. good location. B. nice tv. if this was the upgrade what are the other rooms like?

First the hotel accepted money for a room we booked for our son who is 18 and was going to be in the area for a concert. First they told him it was too early to check in and when he came back at 3pm he was told that they don't accept 18 year olds to stay, even though they were going to keep his $$. He had his own credit card for any incidentals that he would incur, but they still wouldn't. If you cant to get screwed then waste your money here.

We stayed there July 7th and had two rooms. The room was nice but not a single drawer not a single place to put clothes. Our room was to have a spa. Well there was one there but it didn't work and the guy at the front desk said he didn't know anything about them. At 2am there was a lot of loud voices and the people upstairs were making a lot of noise. No one answered the phone in the lobby either. We were suppose to have a continental breakfast but there wasn't anyone in the office and it was locked until 9:30am. We also ran out of toilet paper and there wasn't anyone in the office to give us some. Lucky for us our son was in the next room so we could get some from his room. THEN they had hired some tree trimmers to trim the palm trees outside our room starting at 9am. We couldn't even get out of our room until noon. I took pictures of the 3 ft pile. We were so tired after that horrible night I asked for compensation but the most they would offer after paying for 2 rooms was $40 and a upgrade and a voucher for dinner when we come back. FAT CHANCE OF GOING BACK THERE. When I asked for more than that they stopped talking to me. VERY unprofessional management. Or lack there of. Until they change the management I would steer clear of this place.

My mother and I stayed Jan 26th - 27th at Bay Front Inn. The weather was rainy and cold. The motel had a covered walkway outside our motel door. A group of teenage gang bangers stayed in that walkway all night. That wasn't so bad, but they were loud, were drinking and about 3:30 am a fight broke out. That was when my Mother and I had had enough, we packed up and left. The facility did not have a manager on site, the office phone number was not answered and I believe one of the kids was a motel employee. I had booked the room through Expedia.com, which I WILL NEVER use again as they have been non-responsive regarding my dissatisfaction with the motel. I felt violated and unsafe by the illegal activity on the premises.

Recently stayed at the Bay Front Inn...arrived late...the manager showed me two different rooms to choose from. Not that fancy and they are in the middle of a make over...the manager reassured me of their cleanliness!! Well carpets dirty...old hair ties on side of bed and dirt..went to bed that night and pulled back the covers to FIND A PUBIC HAIR in the sheets!!! then the tissues in the bathroom looked as they were chewed by rats or mice!!!! I requested a refund int he morning person at front desk said unable to do so...and to come back..went back later that day and same thing!!! Talked to manager and he justified the dirt today and no refund but would give me $5 back!!! $%^#$% custumer service -untrained front desk,..if your desperate stay here if not go somewhere else

For the price in Santa Cruz I don't think there is a better place to stay. We are not 4 star kinda of people but appreciate a nice room. Like most Hotels we stay in, who ever did the interior remodeling needs to go back and learn about construction and how to do a nice job. Other that that is is the nicest place in Santa Cruz for the price that we've stayed. It is right around the corner from the wharf and the boardwalk and also close to downtown. Our vehicle stayed parked during our trip.

We loved this place. We had wanted a hotel as close to the boardwalk as possible and this hotel was perfect. It was close to the beach, wharf, and boardwalk, and our kids were able to keep up with us walking. It was clean, quite, and didn't smell of stale smoke or pinesol. Our car stayed parked the whole weekend. We had a blast and we are now planning to go back, and stay here again!!! The room was SO comfortable, and we slept really well. Loads of big fluffy pillows, and towels. Great free WiFi, too!

Close to the beach, pretty landscaping, ice machine works, comfortable bed, good cont. breadfast. Our tiny room was really run down. Grubby carpet, condom wrapper on the floor, fridge and microwave not cleaned, mold on the tile in bathroom and on the shower curtain (lots), pool needs service. I like funky, but this was bad funky. We only needed one night, and were very tired, so decided to make the best of it. However if I had noticed the moldy shower curtain earlier than just before bed, we would have left.
