Sleep optional- BEWARE!
By Kit, 11/06/09
Checked in the same night as a rowdy girls college volleyball team. Endured screaming down the halls and door slamming. Requested to be moved to another floor and was denied because the only other floor with rooms were jacuzzi suites and they refused to give me that room at the $70 price point. I was moved to another room on the same floor and the noise continued long after I called the front desk to inform them about it. I ended up just leaving the TV on all night just to drown out the slamming doors. Got about three hours of sleep and was woken up at 6am to screaming next door. As I was checking out, I requested a price adjustment and was offered 10% off. I asked for more of an adjustment and was told the manager would get back to me. I left four messages over the next six days and she never returned my calls. I called again today and was told by an unsympathetic desk clerk that the manager and the owner discussed the situation and feel that they handled my complaint appropriately and there would be no more additional price adjustment. I feel they could have made the situation right and simply chose not to. I'm very disappointed and expected more from a Days Inn. In addition, to the lack of customer care I received, the hotel looks like a dive and needs to be updated. The beds are rock hard and you feel like you are in an institution. The bathrooms look like the kind you find in an old high school locker room. I recommend the Days Inn in Bridgeport. They have excellent customer service, friendly desk and housekeeping staff, newly updated rooms, great mattresses, and are very accommodating to visitors.

15 minute stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/09
This place is a renovated hospital turned nursing home tuned hotel. I am a hospital worker and I know when I see a place of care. Elevators were spacious. (used for gurnys) Dr offices are still in workning order. (I guess u can got the the second floor if u get sick) We were greeted by a wheelchair. This woud be a perfect placed to film a scary movie. We went to the room and I was scared. Another guess asked me how I felt about the room, I told her I was terrified. I never took my stuff off the cart. We held our rooms here just in case the other horel was booked, thank goodness it wasn't. 15 minutes later after check in we checked out. We booked out of there like some was gonna kill us. No breakfast, no pool all scared. Vacation here at ur own risk.

Would not go back
By Hollie T, 10/13/08
The outside of the hotel and the lobby look nice. They're clean and well kept. The rooms however are a different story. We were on the third floor and found candy wrappers between the bed and nightstands, a used plastic fork beside the fridge/microwave and dirt and dust everywhere. We had a smoking room so we expected a little smell but this room absolutely reeked. A little Febreeze and a clean bedspread would have worked wonders. There was no bathtub and after a day of hiking it would have been nice. I would have thought a "suite" would have had a tub. The noise was horrible, inside and out. The walls were paper thin and every sound from the next room could be heard. The noise from the road and the people coming out of the bar downstairs was constant until about 4:00 am. The bed was very hard, it felt like we were laying on bare boxsprings. The toilet didn't work half the time and took several tries to get it to flush. On the bright side, the shower was nice, the people were friendly, and the sheets were clean.

Worst place i have ever stayed out
By scott, 02/07/08
We checked in for 1 night and stayed on the 3rd floor. The room felt like i was in a pysch ward. Television did not work right, bathroom had the feeling of disgust and I had the feeling of being in a bad place. After I read some of the other reviews, it makes total sense of my uneasy feelings. The carpet was horrible, the furniture looks and feels like it is from the 1960's. I feel sorry for the people that have to work here. It makes total sense that there was only one other person that stayed there that night. I know why the rates are low. Do your homework and look to stay at another hotel. I would suggest the Super 8 down the road.

Staff...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
These people really need attitude adjustments!! The only nice one was a fellow who looked like "santa" that worked late night. NO TUBS, just showers. And I found candy shoved along the floor. Will I go back........I think not!!!

Kinda weird experience
By JeffS, 08/28/07
The place is very clean. I first walked the hall on the 3rd floor and thought.... this is an old hospital. I stayed in room 320...a very large room with 2 double beds and a wirlpool. I could not sleep thinking that this room was an old ICU and many people must have died in this room. It reminded me of POH Hospital when I worked there as a respiratory therapist in the 80's. typical layout with a rectangle shape... standard rooms down the hall and large ICUs in each of he corner rooms. It was so freaky I got NO sleep. My wife slept great... lucky her!

Good value - unique facility
By BRAD_MORGAN, 08/07/07
A good way to make use of an old hospital building. The room was clean, the staff was freindly, the wireless internet worked well. The room included a microwave and a refirgerator. Decent location.

Hope to never go back.
By Joe S., 07/11/05
Like the other reviews, the rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. My problem is at check in, I paid one price, upon returning later I was informed I was charged wrong, they needed $28.00 more dollars. Sorry folks that is your mistake. I had booked by phone and wanted two rooms with double beds. They did not have them so I took a suite and one double bed. I was informed of the price difference. At checkin I was charged the lower price for both rooms. I thought since they didn't have what I requested, they were giving me a discount. Later on when I returned I learned wrong. After already paying for the room, I was charged more money. While the suite was nice, it was not a suite that I am used too. As far as the double room, if you book it use it as a single even then I am not sure it is big enough. The double room that my inlaws had, had no business being called a double room. The lights were burnt out or dim and they could not come and fix them until the next day. We were only staying one day. One of the other reviews tells about small rooms, that is putting in mildly. When I return to the area, unless several changes are made to this hotel/motel I will make sure I stay somewhere else. If you want Italian food, don't eat in the basement resturant. The meau in the lobby is not the same when you get downstairs.
