Good location, rooms ok
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/28/08
Last week our family stayed at this hotel in Saigon. The building is very large and they offer a lot of amenities for families. We liked our room overall, although it was a bit small and on the side near some construction - a little noisy. The bathroom had several mosquitos inside when we arrived, but we managed to kill them and have no further problem. Staff worked hard and helpful overall. Near Ben Thanh market and other shopping/tourist areas. Only stayed two nights, but would recommend -- ask for a room away from the construction!

Can't wait until we head back to New World
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/07
New World offers a variety of services. The rooms are clean, the view from up high is just wonderful. Their swimming pool is very big, which offers the costumers more room when they're swimming. The time when I was in Vietnam I had stayed at New World for about 2 days. Those 2 days were just wonderful. Every morning waking up seeing the glamorous view of the city. Everything about New World can not be explained in words. I think that New World is the place to stay when your in Vietnam.

Very good hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/07
I liked the hotel itself and it was right across the street from a nice park. The area around the hotel is very busy with lots of bicycle and motorcycle traffic. It is very difficult to take any kind of walk as even crossing the street is hazardous.

the heads of state almost live in here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/07
to me, i dunt like this hotel much, but the heads of state almost live in here, even the super stars frm other countries. The location couldn't be better. It is just a 5-minute walk to Ben Thanh Market which is excellent for shopping from 7-am-6pm. The area turns into a pedestrian mall at night so you can check it out even if you arrived late from day tours. Shops selling all sorts of merchandise abound. There is also a good number of restaurants nearby. Vietnamese noodle shops like Pho 2000 and Pho 24 have outlets in the vicinity. Taxicabs are cheap and plentiful and going to other areas in District 1, 3 or 5 is effortless.

We can't wait to go back
By Romantic, 7/30/07
Stayed here as part of a group tour, was a very nice hotel. 10-15 minute walking distance to majority of shopping. The lobby of hotel was beautiful and the room was very clean. Has a nice pool area. Good breakfast buffet. Stick to the massages at the hotel and not the cheap ones on the street. Hotel is much cleaner...

Old Hotel, Small Rooms
By a, 7/1/07
I was disappointed as there were nice reviews on this hotel but it wasn't what i expected when I checked in. For me, it was definitely not a five star experience when i stayed there earlier this year. Service is not as professional as Caravelle and Sheraton. Location is also not as nice compared to the other 2 hotels.

A Wonderful Hotel in Saigon!
New World Hotel Saigon played a significant part in my first trip to Ho Chi Minh City. Having booked one of the deluxe rooms in their Executive Floors, I had high expectations in terms of services and facilities. I was not disappointed. My room on the 10th floor, while a mere duplicate of its counterparts in other 5-star hotels, had a cozy feel on top of a high ceiling which did not leave me feeling confined. The relatively firm mattress suited me well. The bathroom had a complete set of toiletries and amenities replenished everyday, with two complimentary bottles of mineral water always on hand to quench my thirst after a heavy day of sightseeing. There is also an iron and board plus umbrella and in-room safe to complete the room perks. What's more, the nightly turndown service includes two small Vietnamese figurines (instead of mint chocolates) neatly placed on top of the table beside the bed. What a sweet thought! But the best has yet to come because the executive lounge is just great! Breakfast buffet has a good spread. Not overflowing but more than enough to last you till past lunch. The 24-hour complimentary drinks are a definite plus instead of stocking up on sodas in my room. The happy hour cocktails from 5:30-7:30pm are a welcome treat. I thought that they will only serve finger foods, but the buffet was so varied and filling that rice, several viands, pastries, fruits, sushi, sashimi and the like were included. I hated eating so much during this time because it meant losing my appetite for a dinner outside the hotel. But I never complained because everything was for free. The lounge also included complimentary broadband internet use in their two computer stations which In found very useful. There is also a private reading area and a very refreshing open area where you can take your meals or simply laze around while taking advantage of the sweeping views of the city - be it day or night. And the staff? They are among the friendliest and most attentive hotel personnel I've ever encountered in all my travels. Obviously, I was extremely happy with my stay in this hotel and would give it high recommendations

It is still a very good deal
By TT, 3/15/07
I like the executive floor where they serve all you can eat breafast and dinner. The food is professionally cooked with chinese , french, and vietnamese exotic dishes. Wine and liquors are served in the evening. All water and softdrink bottles are provided free. All the food served mentioned above is free . I defintely will stay here again due to good location and SAFE food cooked to american sanitary standard .
