Celebrity Inn, Clarinda

As we searched for a place to stay for our recent class reunion - we discovered the Celebrity Inn. It was affordable, clean and the staff was very accomodating. It had a very friendly family atmosphere. I would definately stay there again!!

There was trashy people with natural lite staying next to us and they were better that the employees, the join smelled like baby poop and roach come out at night when we called they were high on weed like the last time and told us they could not help. We then got solicited by two hookers for sexual favors and blow jobs my wife was so pissed.

We have stayed here many times before for family gatherings, but were very disappointed this time. We reserved several non-smoking rooms for our family, and were given smoking rooms. The room was not very clean - mostly because it is really old and stained. The air conditioner was turned off when we arrived, and even though it was cool for an Iowa July, the room was very hot. There was a button on the wall, that seemed to do nothing, and a window unit air conditioner that had broken knobs. We did get the AC working, but it still seemed very hot, and figured out it was because the baseboard heater was turned on (by the original knob that seemed to do nothing - it would be nice if they labeled it as a heater!). The phones in the rooms did not work well, and the breakfast was minimal and sad! We will not stay here again!

We were on our way home from Utah when a snow storm decieded to hit so we ended up spending an extra night at this motel. The people were friendly and the room was excellent. We had our dogs along and that was ok with them. The room was big and had a fridge and microwave. we had breakfast an d explored the town ( The Birthplace of Glen Miller) we even stopped by the local bar Kellys. Had a great time and really enjoyed the motel, I whould highly recommend this motel..I think their sign sells them short adverising as a hunters motel.
