Run, Don't Walk from this Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/15/11
This was the second most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. The linens appeared to have never been washed. There were crusty body fluids (not just stains) on all the sheets, bedding, pillowcases, pillows, and towels. Dried blood on the coverlet. Every towel (the largest of which being a handtowel) had brown stains on it, and the pillows were filthy. The sheets were too small for the bed, and the sheets and curtains had holes in them that seemed to be from mice or moths. There was actually what appeared to be a bloody handprint on the wall, and I wondered if someone had been murdered there. I sleep on my side, and my arm broke out in either hives or acne from the bed.
The bathroom doorknob was broken and I was locked in there for a good ten minutes. The lid of the toilet tank was obviously not original and too big, so that you had to reach under it to flush. The refrigerator did work, but the microwave was older than me and smelled bad. No wi-fi, needless to say. I heard from a local person that the area is known for drugs and he advised me to find a new hotel pronto.
Those things being said, the staff was pretty nice, the room was cheap ($33 for a single), and the location was really close to downtown. It also smelled only faintly of smoke, which I took as a plus. So a couple of nice things, but mostly utter, indescribable filth.
