What a relief
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/07
Our room was very clean and appeared to have been recently renovated and redecorated (new carpet smell, fresh looking paint). It was also exceptionally quiet. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, and the central air was just the perfect temperature. We didn't have a car in Indy, so this was perfect for walking into downtown. Other reviews from a few years back indicate this place used to be a bit of a dump, but it seems really nice now, and was a big improvement over the hostel in Indy, which is really far from the downtown, and smelled like mold throughout.

you'll be sorry
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/06
Lived there 7 months. It was filthy, dead animal smell inside the cabinets, cigarette burns on the linens, toilet stopped up,bathrm. ceiling flooded, elevators went out and not repaired for over a week, no heat in winter, no hot water frequently, no A/C in beginning of hot weather, no maid service during last month, rats running amok in laundry room, half of the 8 washers and dryers never worked, etc. etc. etc. RUN !!

A great romantic getaway.
By Beth, 6/25/06
It's location is great, downtown Indy. Somewhat out of the way, though. It had a very romantic feel. Great for a weekend or even a night getaway!

won't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/05
I think third world was not appropriate. No phone communication for late arrival,if your cab driver can find it, the four poster beds are short sheeted and don't fit in the alcoves, no restaurants with in comfortable walking distance and a real seedy neighborhood.

A third world hotel in Indy.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/04
This place is third world. The front desk is a 2x2 window and you can not call it the inn from the outside after hours unless the call knows your room number. Narrow, dark and musty halls will greet you as you leave a small elevator able to lift only 1500 lbs. The carpet is stained!, had not been vacuumed since when. Furniture is cherry but salvation army vintage. The televisions are small and cable is good for picking up interference. The kitchenettes are pathetic. They lack even a simple pot to boil an egg. so much for comforts of home.
The bathroom is small, cramped and moldy. Finally, this hotel is a long 10 blocks from downtown and through questionable neighborhood. They have an uniformed security guard at night. Save your money, go to a super 8 or motel 6. This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Here or even in India.

Home away from Home
By Threader, 4/1/04
This is the first time I was away from home for such a long time. I first arrived in Indianapolis and stayed two nights at some dreadful motel off of the 465. A friend at work suggested to stay at the Renaissance Tower since he had been there several months and was very satisfied. I have been here 6 months now and I am very happy. Rooms are clean and quiet. I never here noise from the other rooms. I am 7 mins drive to work at Lilly. I am 10 walk away from some nightlife. Management is top rated and have always done their best to accomodate my ever changing schedules from my employer. I would be very sad if I ever came back to Indy and I could not stay here.
