Allaire Timbers Inn, Breckenridge

This is a jewel! If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place to stay in a stunning setting, this is the place! I stayed there twice with my husband, each time for a ski vacation. I would go back any day (winter or summer). This is probably one of the best B&Bs I know in the US. The owners are wonderful - friendly, helpful but not intrusive. The lodge itself is stunning, with a beautiful warm and contemporary Western decor, and great mountain view. They offer a different cooked dish for breakfast every morning (home made!)in addition to toasts, cereals, fruits, etc. There is also Happy Hour in the late afternoon, which we definitely enjoyed as an apres-ski. The rooms are well appointed and super clean (although the bathroom is a little small in a regular room). This lodge is definitely more upscale and certainly not your "budget" place. Guests seemed to be mainly couples (30-50). Although it is not close to the slopes, it is right on the route of the free town shuttle (20 yards from the door), so it's very easy to get to the ski lifts with minimal efforts (a 10-15 minute ride). Downtwon Breckenridge is only about a 10-15 minute walk away, so going out to dinner doesn't necessarly require transportation if you're up for a short walk. I can only recommend this place, and can't wait to go back!
