La Siesta Motel, Ajo

Had quotes off the Internet of $45. Got wacked by $60 bill! So not worth that! Ajo is a dump an hour from the Mexican border and there's no reason for this.

Enjoyed my stay. Cabin was simple and offered everything I needed (microwave, fridge, tv, wireless internet). It was easy to find on the main drag through town. A/C worked well. Front desk was very helpful. Would recommend booking ASAP as it fills up quickly.

The cabins were very nice. The shades were dirty, and the bathroom was very small. The girl at the front desk was very helpful.

THIS LOVELY LITTLE PLACE HAS THE NICE FEEL OF BEING AT HOME WHEN YOUR ALONG WAY AWAY!! NOW AFTER THREE YEARS OF RETURNING TO SAME SIGHT, WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE WITH OLD FRIENDS. CLIFF & TARA ALONG WITH THEIR YOUNG SON ARE THE BEST OF KIND!! DOING A EXCELLANT JOB OF TAKING CARE OF THE PLACE, AND ALWAYS OFFERING A HELPING HAND TO THOSE SNOW BIRDS THAT NEED IT!!! THANK-YOU BOTH SO MUCH.... WE KINDA DON'T WANT THE WORD TO SPREAD ABOUT THIS DESERT JEWEL...BUT CREDIT NEEDS TO GIVEN, WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.....SEE YOU SOON A COUPLE OF CANADIAN SNOW BIRDS FROM OCT-APRIL

We stayed there last week on our way to The Organ Pipe Cactus N.P. We got a small cabin extremely clean and very cozy BEST DEAL AROUND !!!

we stayed in this motel many of times and the service is great i love the open court yards and the plants and flowers take me to another world.the service is great and the staff is doing a great job i am going to visit here again and again as many times i can what a great motel the best in ajo thank you la siesta

We didn't know what to expect out in the middle of the Arizona desert, but we were very pleasantly surprised by this motel. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but the room was functional and came with a fridge & microwave. It also had a great pool and a tennis court out back for the kids.

I've been staying at La Siesta for years and new the owners wife Trudy very well. She took care of just about everything there and always made the stay very pleasant. But sadly, in December 2003 she died of cancer. Jim the owner had a hard time finding good help running the place in 2004, and that's probably reason some people may not of had such a pleasant stay that year. But Trudy's son, just out of the Army, is there now with his wife and things are back to normal and the place looks better than ever. For me, staying at La Siesta has always been just a wonderfull experience.

We really did not enjoy our stay here this year. The service was poor. We felt it was a bit expensive and would have appreciated a weekly rate as opposed to nightly only (rooms in front). We did stay here in 2003 and the management was much more cordial and friendly.
