Beautiful Setting, Relaxing stay!!!
By Peter, 7/30/11
The Pacific Inn Santa Cruz is beautiful both inside and out, and you couldn't find nicer hosts! One of the best stays we have had in all our decades of California trips! The room sparkled it was so clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They told us of gorgeous beaches to stroll on, places to visit, where to dine, and they were all great recommendations! The breakfast provided were absolutely lovely and the portions massive. The area in which the Pacific Inn is situation is a couple of miles from the boardwalk and Santa Cruz Beaches. I highly recommend this place and the area for a relaxing getaway.

OMG ... this place was awful!
By CarmelaV, 4/26/11
We didn't like anything about this place. The office smelled like smoke and the clerk had no personality. The elevator was broken. The building and surroundings were old and damaged and smelly. The room was small and not too clean. The enclosed pool area was dirty. The neighborhood was questionable ... there were homes around the place with people partying outside (drinking, smoking, drugs). Looked like a good place for drug deals. We would not step foot in the neighborhood stores or little restaurants. Looked very seedy. We could not wait to get out of there. Please don't go to this place. We could not believe Priceline suggested it!

Led to believe
By danton, 3/18/11
Initially, I noticed that it was a great little place that was located "just enough" walking distance apart from the docks where the sea lions are. I am a little skeptical about its DAMRON affiliations, but it too seems more comfortable than PURE.

Just gorgeous !
By Sally, 3/7/11
Stayed at the Pacific Inn Santa Cruz while attending a conference, and plan to return for pleasure. The location is relatively isolated, but if you want to relax for a few days, it is ideal place. It is absolutely beautiful and Enclosed Heated Pool , Spa & Sona was terrific. The staff were unbelievably friendly, especially room service staff. I ordered breakfast daily and it was the best room service staff I have ever encountered. I call this our new "home away from home" - oh, if we could be so lucky! Whether you are considering this property for a leisurely getaway or a business function - you can not go wrong. Absolute perfection.

The sun came out and so did everyone else
By kim, 11/21/10
We booked 2 rooms and they were both surprisingly spacious. One double and one with a king and sofa bed. They were also adjoining. They both had balconies and one had an eating area. The fridge was really noisy and we had to unplug it to sleep. Otherwise it was very quiet. The pool was closed until 10 am and checkout was 11. so we didn't get to use it. The breakfast was okay, but mostly carbs. The walk to the boardwalk was a little far.

LOOK ELSEWHERE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/10
We first checked in and right off the bat noticed how shady of a neighbourhood this hotel is in. Right next door to the inn parking were apartments with very questionable people milling about night and day. Pretty sure we saw a few drug deals occur right under our window. Anyway, about the motel. The rooms were gross and small. Id say the bathroom wasnt big enough for one person! The sheets had cigarette burn holes in them (and popcorn kernals!), and had to request a new set (we stayed in the non-smoking rooms) Needless to say, gross. This place doesnt even try. The breakfast is a joke, the hottub is a joke, this entire place is a joke. The best part of this tale ends with a 100 charge that got randomly thrown on that we didnt find out about until we got home. When we called to inquire, we were told is was due to finding ash and cigarettes in the room, which is funny, since nobody who stayed with us smokes. Moral of the story, unless you want to spend money for dirty rooms, sleep next door to drug dealers, and be charged randomly, STAY FAR AWAY!

Quaint but moldy!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/17/10
Recently, stayed here as are a dog friendly hotel..!!! the place is quaint however unclean and falling apart!!! Bedspread was full of stains on inside! Bathroom floor feels like it's falling apart due to water leaking into the floor over the years. Left some personal things in bathroom and went back for them....front desk people were very unhelpful and told me to call house keepers in morning!!!!! went back next day and my stuff never showed up!?!?!HMMMMMM! also, better to book on internet can save about $15 if you do so...not a place i suggest to stay...if you need a pet friendly place...go to The Capitola Innn!!! better deal and location!!!

My family always chose the Guest house.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/09
We have three daughters and two boys. The always want to have their birthdays here. We live in Santa Cruz,so when we just want to get away that's where we go.The managers changed, The breakfast was pretty much the same except the old managers set everything up so it felt more at home. They were always baking which not only smelled good but it tasted great. The old managers would greet you when you came into the lobby. But now everything is diffrent. The last time we stayed our friends and family were calling our room alot. We had decided to stay another night. We we're refused and told to leave because she(mgr.) had more important things to do. When my wife did the math we relised that we had put down close to $20,000.00 going there over the past 10 years. I STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT YOU STAY ELSE WHERE.Unless you like being treated badly by rude people.
