Colton Point Motel, Wellsboro

The place is old & has not been maintained or updated since they opened, the rooms are dark, dreary & depressing, the chairs were stained, the rug was dirty & the place smelled. The bathroom looked like a converted closet that you couldn't move in, we hated the whole place & couldn't wait to get out of there. We were so sorry that we read the other reviews & listened to them, they must have been written by the owners themselves since none of it was true

We liked the location, the rooms, and the friendliness of the owners Nancy and Ron. They also had a little restaurant in the lobby of the motel that serves breakfast from 7am-10am. Anyone riding past the motel too can also stop in and eat a very good reasonable price breakfast, I liked this way better than any of the restaurants in Wellsboro! They had a pond with a little beach in the back of the property for use...you can swim or fish if you want. It is completely NO SMOKING! Very good to hear that, and NO PETS allowed too....that was a plus for this property! WE WILL BE BACK! I would recommend this place to ANYONE who wants a clean, quiet, and friendly hosts motel! Only thing we didn't like was...VACATION WAS OVER and had to return to the "real world"! ha ha.. Please try this place and their breakfast! BEST IN WELLSBORO!

This place is a shining star of non-chain motel staying that is ran by a family who couldn't be more accommodating. Awesome amenities if you don't feel like hanging out in your room, such a pond to fish in, wood pits with complimentary split wood, swings for kids, horseshoe pits, and plenty of benches to soak in the view. We also found a nice walking trail across the street that takes you back into the state forest. Rooms were clean and did the job. I liked that they supplied old towels and hose to clean your motorcycle off after the ride. People were really nice and in the morning, they serve a very reasonably priced breakfast that was really enjoyable.

We bought the Colton Point in 1998. Since then we have installed new carpet, new windows, air conditioners, siding and several other upgrades. The Colton Point Motel just may be one of the areas best kept secrets. Spotless rooms, gorgeous setting, and probably run by some of the nicest people on the planet! Perfect and quiet location, within a short drive to absolutely some of the most beautiful places on Earth. Thanks Nancy and Bruce, breakfast was great and our stay there was wonderful! We will be back!!!

Ron & Nancy are great, they run a first class operation. The room are very clean and the cooking is good. The location is perfect for whatever you have planned(i.e.)hunting, fishing, snowmobining, leave changing, or just kicking back. Also Ann who helps out there is entertaining and a lot of fun to talk with.

This place was not fancy but spotlessly clean and we don't especially like fancy anyway. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The rate on this page had said $45 and we were charged $70? It was not a big weekend or foliage time so am not sure why. They have a large pond and grounds in the back with benches, shade trees, paddle boats and fire pits with wood. You can catch and release fish in the pond. It's out in the country and EXTREMELY quiet which we liked. They serve breakfast in the morning with a nice menu and reasonable prices.We would go there again.

This was one of the best motels I have ever stayed in. Very clean and a great location. Loved the pond behind where you can sit and relax or take a spin on the paddle boats. The owners Ron & Nancy were wonderful. They served a wonderful breakfast and I even watched Ron wipe the sweat off the eggs before cooking them! Book your stay there now....you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back again in the fall.

We stay for 8 nights with 20+ high school students. Fabulous service! Kids still talk about all the fun they had. We going back this summer....renting the whole hotel! Ideal location for us to conduct our leadership camp.
