Long in the Tooth

This place is showing its age: Deadbolt lock missing, AC unit vent would not stay open, TV volume had a mind of its own, and on a 110* day, the soda machine was out of cold drinks! Those tiny bits of fluff on the bed were technically called pillows, but only a Chihuahua would rest his weary head comfortably. The evil garbage truck started throwing the dumpster around at 6:20 am, but I think that was the city's fault, not the hotel's.
I found the lady at the front desk friendly and she seemed receptive about my comments the next morning. She even promised to call the city and complain about the garbage truck. As nice as the people were, they can't make up for the run-down feeling of the place. They keep it clean enough, but it's hard to make cracks in the grout and broken trim seem truly fresh.
In short, if you're desperate for a place to sleep and need rest now no matter the cost, this is an "okay" hotel. If you have a little time to shop around for vacancies, there are some other chains in the area that offer clean, comfortable rooms at a better value than $80+tax per night.
This Quality Inn is worth less than $50 per night in its current condition.
