great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/09
We were put off by the 2 bad reviews - BUT - we went anyway and we have nothing but good to say about the Lynburke Motel. CLEAN - COMFY - GOOD PRICE - FRIENDLY - SUPER LOCATION. Well worth the money. We will go again - in fact it will be our first pick. Restaurant opposite. Kingdom trail passes. Beds and quilts were classic Vermont. It was/is not expensive or ritzy - just great value. Our visit was fall 2009. Bill and Jeanne

would not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/09
non moking rooms #3,5,7,reeked of stale smoke. Room #10, which we finally took, was only a little better. Carpets were very badly stained; AC did not work well-- it had to run on highest level just to bring room temp down to low 70's. No handicap access queen beds .Much dirt in corner by tub. Could have dug it out w/ screwdriver

Lovely Owners & Decent Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/09
I am shocked to see the (-) reviews. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it!! The owners, Jim & Mary, were very lovely and engaged us in a nice conversation. They also own a terrific restaurant up the road "Juniper's"!! IT was a fabulous meal and was very busy (a true indicator the locals know where to go!). Free Wi-FI!!!! While we were warned that it is a slow connection, we actually did not experience that. NO.. there is no Hairdryer, fancy ice buckets, valet parking, or room service... thank Goodness or we would have to pay extra for that :). YES the building is old... it is Vermont .. most all the houses here are old and lovely. These owners have upgraded electricity, furniture, television and alarm clocks. Our room DID have phone, AC, and lovely wooden desk and armoire. We will come back. We enjoyed our stay. Again, for the price, the location, the friendly service, and area knowledge, you really get a good deal and pleasant stay.

stepped in dog excrement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/09
I ruined my shoe stepping in dog excrement. If a motel has to allow pets, the management should make sure that the owners obey ordinary politeness rules. Or clean up the stuff themselves.

Quaint place, decent room given the nice price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/09
Sure, there were some things other people might complain about like ugly carpet or ugly furnishings. I could see people complaining about the bathroom door having trouble shutting, or the mattresses possibly being from 1974. But it did seem renovated in some ways, and it was MUCH better than I expected based on reviews. For the price, I couldn't ask for more! It was also great because we brought our dog, and it was only a one-time $10 fee instead of a nightly $25 fee. The shower worked fine, there was excellent wifi and a nice TV with cable. It felt safe, the staff was great. They were really sweet, and helpful. The pool was fun too, and I liked the covered bridges very close by. It's definitely worth it if you want a great deal on a decent place, especially if you're bringing a pet!

Perfect for Snowmobilers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
We just spent a weekend Snowmobiling around the Northeast Kingdom and stayed at the Lynburke. Can't ask for more with this place: Nicely updated rooms, friendly service, right on the VAST trails, Free Wireless Internet and guests get a discount at a great local restaurant. We will definitely be using the Lynburke as our base for future Snowmobile vacations!

Looking good!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/07
There have been a lot of changes at the LynBurke Hotel, and I'm delighted that the rooms were clean, the staff extremely nice, the pool and a/c were refreshing, and the rooms are comfortable! I liked the rustic pine furniture and I browsed the cute gift shop. All is well at LynBurke, and I will be back again! Friends from NC

inaccuracies in previous review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/07
My husband has informed me that there was indeed a telephone in the room, which I didn't see, and that the "squashed insects" on the ceiling (which I was too afraid to investigate) were in fact damaged ceiling tiles. I apologize for these inaccurate comments, which were made in good faith, and hope that those of you looking for a motel in this price range, will not be put off.

improvements & other
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/07
We booked a room here because we were attending a wedding at the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville and couldn't afford Wildflower Inn rates. If you are looking for those comforts you have come to expect from a medium priced motel ($75 per night), this is not the place to go. No coffee machine, hairdryer, Kleenex, ice bucket or telephone. Forget about the ironing board! A fly swat was provided... There seemed to be a couple of large insects stuck to the ceiling, but I could not ascertain this for sure as I didn't want to get any closer to them...there was also no fan in the bathroom to "freshen" it. One of the lamps didn't work, as opposed to the outside of the motel which was so brightly lit it was like daylight inside the room, even with the curtains drawn - so bring some form of blackout to hang over the window if you decide to stay here. The beds were pretty good, but with the light pouring in it was very difficult to get a night's sleep. The pool looked OK, but I didn't try it. The shower was good and the"Victoria's Garden" mini hand and body lotion was nice!

Will travel out of the way not to stay here
By Pete the Polak, 06/28/07
They say never judge a book by its cover............well, they were right. The exterior looks great but go inside and its a whole different story. For the $75.00 plus tax for a room with a queen size bed is about all you got. It was 95 degrees and the AC didn't work well, gave us another room, either room has ice buckets, went to ask for ice bucket and ice, guy behind the counter said he could give me some ice but nothing to put it in. Rooms are small and very dated. The bedspread (it you want to call it that it was paper thin and couldn't warm up a snail) looked like it belonged to my great great grandmother and looked like it hadn't been washed since then. Empty picture frames, wires hanging from old fire alarms. When we got our other room the shampoo and conditioner was used before us. The pool had a funny smell to it. $75 plus tax for the room? Never again. It might be worth $30 on a good day.
