Low Mentality Management
By ,
A standard suite for the most part, but the room had numerous severe cracks in the plaster/sheetrock and a busted out door knob to the shared suite next door that we weren't sharing with. But the kicker has to be the lack of professionalism displayed by the night manager and the on site security guard. I mistakenly drove my motorcycle for the weekend even though they do not allow motorcycles on the property. Thinking this policy was aimed at the annual bike week celebrations, I hoped no one would object to mine. My bike is not loud and in fact no one at the front desk noticed I had one when I checked in or when I went in and out of the property on the first day. However, the night security guard noticed my bike on the top of the parking deck and via my parking pass attached to my bike, he was able to get my room number from the front desk. Between him and the front desk it was determined that I must be woken up at 1:00 in the morning to remove it from the parking deck immediately. Standing in my underwear at the door, I asked if I could wait until the morning and what I thought was a reasonable request was denied. Not wanting to be kicked out, I certainly did not cause any problems and moved it right away. I assume the night manager and security guard were quite proud of themselves, but I will certainly strive for a more customer service oriented establishment for my next trip to the beach.

Unsatisified customer.
We stayed at Forest Dunes in June of 2012. We chose to stay here because we have loved it the past few times we have stayed. I DO NOT know what has happened in the last year but this year the service was terrible. You had to ask for towels and i had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper, we had to take out our own trash. We paid like 140.00 a night for this place. My husband smokes and you could not smoke anywhere on the premises. We heard from another person staying here that the security guard was hiding in the bushes to catch smokers. I said WHAT? She said yes i saw him. We also heard there could be a $200.00 fine if caught smoking on the premises. Needless to say after this experience we will not be staying here again. Suggestion to future customers, spend your hard earned money somewhere you can enjoy your vacation. If i wanted to do chores i would have stayed at home and saved my money!!!

Never stay here
By ,
The carpet was old, dingy and felt disgusting to walk on. The unit was so out of date. The laminate counters and cabinates in the bathroom and kitchen should have been replaced. The service there is awful and everyone had attitudes. Please don't ask for extra towels. And the want to charge you for damages for things that most places would just chark up to normal wear and tear. Like my son had an accident in the bed so I'm charge $195 for cleaning and replacement. WOW. So any family who has children or adults with weak bladders or even may be clumsy. DON"T GO THERE. You will pay for it. I'm so sorry I didn't go back to Towers on the Grove. Yeah it's in North Myrtle but the comfort of the stay and the hospitality made it so worth it. Forest Dunes will never get my business again nor will I ever refer anyone to them.

Worst Hotel Ever !!!
By ,
This hotel looks nothing like it does on the website. Our room was dirty and my kids couldn't sleep on the pull out bed because of how bad of shape it was in. The towel rack fell off the wall when you hung a towel on it. The website shows the hotel being oceanfront, in my mind oceanfront means on the beach not crossing a busy road to get to the beach. My family and I ask for our money back after one night and went to a new hotel. This hotel should be called Forest Dump !!!!!!!!!!

I am highly disappointed.
By ,
I have been spending my time and my family home away from home at Forest Dunes Mrytle Beach since 2005. In 2010 I have been offended twice. There is a worker with blonde hair at the Mrytle Beach location 5511 North Ocean Blvd, very nasty individual. The first time she denied me my floor/room that I had request because I paid on the internet and the other clerk that was at the desk with her brought it to her attend that my request room was available, but she brushed her off. Second I had reservation on a Wednesday she call me and cancelled my reservation, I told her that I was going to pay, It was already scheduled, I was scheduled to check in the next morning but I didn't have a place to stay. So I ended up at Beach Cove they were glad to accommendate me and my family.

Wouldn't go back
By ,
The room was in the location I wanted, but that was about all. The bed was the worst I've ever slept in, they only made the bed once in the 5 days we were there. The TV was old, the cable reception was bad and they did nothing about it, even though we told them. Won't stay again.

We cant wait to go back
By ,
I had a great time at Forrest Dunes Resort. People should know that these are condos owned by different people meaning that all rooms look different so you don't know what you r gonna get. I stayed in a very nice room 406 it had a ocean view nice floors nice bed. All in All it was a really great deal for the money. I resort looks kinda dirty on the outside but in side it was clean and the staff was nice. therr hot tub was great and the lazy pool was really fun they also have an inside pool and out side pool. it's right on the beach I would most likelt stay here again I would more than likely ask for the same room cuase some rooms look really bad. People should know that All rooms are own by someone different I did not know that but I was lucky. I saw some ppl rooms and there were really ugly. I would recommend this resort to friends and family I really had a blast.

Enjoyed our Stay at the Forest Dunes
By ,
Visited the Forest Dunes 7/23-7/27 2008 and had a room on the 9th floor. The room was large with 1 bedroom with 2 beds 1 and a half baths and large balcony with a great ocean and pool view. The kitchen included everything you need to fix a quick bite or a full dinner. Hotel staff and maids were friendly and prompt. Parking garage that was connected to the hotel was nice and if you park on the top you have a walk-way that connects you from the garage to the 4th floor to catch the elevator or stairs there instead of having to go through the lobby. Location was great in a quiet part of town and the beach access from the hotel was very nice. The room could have used a fresh coat of paint on the walls where luggage has marked the walls up. Overall our stay was great and would reccomend the Forest Dunes to family and friends. If we plan another trip to Myrtle Beach in the future we will be staying at the Forest Dunes.

Misleading Oceanfront views
By ,
We booked through an agency and because our unit was privately owned we were not given any help through the front desk. Their reply was, "when you book through someone and stay in private units we don't assist you with anything." No towels, toilet paper, etc. They made it clear that they were not responsible for us. Also we were mislead by the agency that it was oceanfront and almost ALL their units are ocean view. When you visit their website the photo is very misleading. The narrow part of the building is the front so there are very few ocean front views. Crossing the street was no big deal - not much traffic and we stayed June 27-July 4. It was in a nice area, but not much around to walk to. Also the pool is very small and sunbathing is limited as the pool and lazy river sit in between buildings and the sun doesn't shine much until noon. Then as it moves you lose sun rays unless you move around. They have a great restaurant/bar with excellent food and prices. Our room was great and really clean. We were on the second floor though and could only look out and see the lazy river - hardly could see ocean at all. If you stay ask for rooms at least on fourth floor and #5-8 at least (406, 508, etc.) View is better. For the price we paid, $499, we would go back. Can't beat the price.
