very disappointed

My husband and I and another couple just returned from a weekend in North Conway. We stayed at the Red Elephant Inn. The Inn is the most beautifully decorated Inn we have every visited. It was a pure pleasure to be surrounded by such unique items.
The very disappointed part was the friendliness of the owners. We did not feel welcome from the minute we checked it. It continued to get worse as the early evening approached. We were out on the porch having cocktails and cheese and crackers and getting to know another couple and were told we were making a lot of noise and disturbing the other guest, who we never saw. It was 5:00 in the afternoon. We were talking and laughing. We never went back into the house, even when it got dark and had cooled off. There was no place that would be comfortable to sit and continue to talk or to even play cards, which we had every intention of doing. We stayed out until it was time to go to bed. Breakfast was very cool in the morning, with minimal interaction from the hosts and then we checked out. I would not recommend this Inn for anyone that I know.
